No vaccine stops you from getting the virus they're made for. They help your body fight off the infection and make the infection less severe than it would have been otherwise. Vaccines aren't a force field that prevents viruses from entering your body.

It would be better if our healthcare system didn't get overrun every few months because of spikes in covid infections.

@MFBKBass5 How are the hospitals in your state doing right now?

My state Indiana, our hospitals are reaching their limits. They are running out of space. It isn't looking good and with Christmas this weekend the next two weeks may be much worse.

While the vaccine doesn't prevent you from getting Covid it does make it harder to catch Covid. Also if you catch it, chances of it being a severe case diminish, and chance of hospitalization is much much lower.

That is why we should vaccinate. Why we should tell others to vaccinate. Even though Covid is getting less deadly with each variation as long as so many people are hospitalized that our medical system can't function normally, this is far from over.

Right now I would hate it I need to go to the emergency room.

Yall arent understanding the question at all. Im not anti vaccine. I just got my booster last week.

I think everyone should get it and I think the dumbasses who refuse are just scared bitches who are acting like children because theyre being told what to do.

That being saidthe current vaccines arent stopping this new variant at all. My 3 family members are boostered and have COVID currently.

The right wing now can say whats the point of a vaccine if everyones getting it and the mandates are pointless now since covid is spreading to everyone, vaccinated or not.

Yes, symptoms are currently less severe if youre vaccinated, but it seems like the vaccine mandate is a bit moot at this point.

I understand the reasons but I dont think those reasons matter to those who arent getting vaccinated anyway. A mandate doesnt seem to be the way to get them to figure out that getting a vaccine is the right thing to do.

But heres the issue. Theyre NOT forcing people to get vaccines. Those who wont get it arent suddenly getting it because of some mandate. Especially since the mandates are getting struck down in the courts.

So again I ask, whats the point of a vaccine mandate if its not getting the entire population vaccinated?

That's just stupid and false. The vaccine should have removed the need for those things... if enough people had actually gotten it. Same thing with TC's question. Omicron exists in the first place because not enough people have been vaccinated to stop variants from popping up.

lol look at the statistics of percent of population whos vaccinated. States with mandates dont suddenly have way higher rates of vaccination than states without mandates.

republicans arent getting the vaccine, end of story. Fox News tells them not to, so they wont.

It does. It greatly reduces the chance of hospitalization or death from it, and still gives you some protection from even getting it.

Which means more hospital beds for people who actually need them.
