I love it. Really good, genuine dialogue and the portrayal was amazing.

Great movie. Not one I can watch a lot. I can relate with Travis's feeling soft loneliness and his awkwardness. That's as far as the comparisons go, just to note.

No one knows him for Shutter Island or Gangs of NY.

He's known for Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, and maaaaayyyybbbeeee The Departed.

Hey, it's good that you're aware of your feelings and able to vocalize them at least. If you can get therapy, it should be able to help at least a little. Though by the sounds of it, you have a support network of some kind already.

Just got to mention the terrific score by Bernard Herrman. You can feel the sadness, madness, and tension yet it's still beautiful. It also has the elements of the dirty sleaziness of NYC at the time.

And people like to think that SPOILERS Travis is dead and the end is a dream, but I like the way that he is still alive with the madness still in him to where he can still lash out in violence at any moment.

I just deal with things in my own way. Therapy and various medicines never really helped me much, but it's possible I just never had any good therapists. I appreciate your thoughts though.

It is the defining incel movie before we knew what that was, a great movie in general. However, under appreciated? That's always been considered one of his top films and one of the very top of the 70s.

That's fair; WAY more people associate him with Wolf over Shutter Island or fucking Gangs of NY of all things.

In fact I feel like most people forget either of those were Scorsese.
