Probably just was someone recording their gameplay and sent it to the developer. It is no secret they ban for ramming.

Same could be said for any online game. At least this game doesn't have an automated ban system when an account is banned if they get a certain amount of reports in a set amount of time like most games.

I mean, just because you didn't mean to ram doesn't take away the fact you probably rammed people. Intent shouldn't factor in if you're ruining the game for other people.

Ramming and rubbing is racing, being banned for it is stupid. If the developers didn't want people doing it then they should turn collision off or leave it up to each individual player if they want it on or off.

It's a good thing I don't really race against other drivers because I do race dirty and I will spin other racers out given the opportunity. Rubbing is racing.

Yes it should. If you're deliberately or repeatedly ramming into people in a way that ruins the experience for others, then sure, a ban is fine. But if one accidental collision is such a problem, then the game shouldn't have collision as a mechanic.

Lol you shouldn't get banned for ramming into people. That's dumb.

Hold the fuck up, don't say I'm ruining shit when I rarely race against other players. The only time I race against other players is in the eliminator and yes, I will bump into them but I'm trying to not get eliminated.

I will win by any means necessary, not everyone is going to race cleanly and not bump into other players. If you're good enough you can out maneuver the person bumping into you. But don't say I'm ruining shit when i only race against other players in the eliminator.

That stops it from being a racing game and turns it into a trials game with ghosts. What better penalty to enforce proper race etiquette and not driving beyond your skill than to actively punish people who make contact with other drivers.

If the goal is to eliminate ramming and emphasize etiquette, I'd say have collisions cost you the race, not result in a longterm ban. If a player is clearly out to ram into other players just to ruin the game for them, then it's fair to ban. If accidental bumps result in week long bans, it sounds like a shitty time.

"Proper race etiquette" LOL. In most auto racing there is rubbing and bumping beside Indy car or rally races.
Rubbing is part of racing, it has nothing to do with skill level.

You didn't say what you were playing, but people that smash into and deliberately wrecks others in races are shitheads who should absolutely be punished. There is definitely a line. If you start literally wrecking people in actual racing, you'll possibly catch hands, and likely get penalized.

I drive in sim races on iRacing and watch way too much real racing. You don't get to be a wrecking ball.

I can understand a penalty for ramming full speed into other players intentionally or something similar but not for rubbing or bumping into them or spinning them out. Banning users is a good way to lose players, a warning then maybe a day ban is sufficient but not a week or more.

I didn't say wrecking people but rubbing and bumping is part of racing, you don't get penalized for rubbing or bumping and rarely do you get penalized for spinning someone out.

Rubbing, bumping or spinning someone out isn't the same as wrecking them.

You guys are acting on the assumption that the TC is telling the whole truth. They don't ban people for accidents, they ban people for being shitheads and ruining the game for the larger subset of players.

This reminds me of back on the League of Legends forums people would be crying that they got banned for no reason at all, that they don't even type in chat at all ever. Then get a bunch of people to support them based on their word alone. Then some GM comes in and just drops their report log of like 20 games of them telling people to kill themselves. That was so amazing to shut these people up.

Also, it's a racing game. You ram, you bump, you play dirty. Because it's a game, not real life.

I don't think you should get banned from playing for that. If you can still play singleplayer, then fine - that's acceptable. If you're banned from playing the game at all? Fuck off.

Gonna be honest, I drive like an asshole and will bash into a car's side if I can gain position. Played 3 and 4 for over 400 hours online, never got a message or anything.

I'd like to see where in the terms of use it says you can't wreck into other players or bump or rub other players during a race.

When Low Tier God blacklists people who beat him, the reason he always gives is "system tampering".

There's not an option for "They beat me fair and square and I'm salty about it". And even if there was, they wouldn't use it.

Oh yeah, I've heard they were banning people for ramming. I've only been rammed once in a way that I felt was intentional. It was during the weekly challenge against unbeatable AI, one of my teammates suddenly rammed into me on a straight and made me miss the checkpoint. I let it slide because I figure, he mistook me for an AI car trying to pass him. Every other time though, it's just people flying into me on a turn.

It sucks that they banned you for that though. But they've also been banning people for using copyrighted material on their liveries, which is equally as dumb.

Hopefully they're not banning people on Xbox one because they'd have to ban a lot of people who use copyrighted material for the liveries. There's probably hundreds of copyrighted images,etc being used.
