The Senate infrastructure bill passed. The house has the build back better bill which they were calling an infrastructure bill but was mostly about other things.

The original promise made was that the Senate and the house would draft both bills at the same time and then approve each bill at the same time, but when it became increasingly clear that the house bill wasn't going to make it through the Senate they pushed the Senate bill through first.

Congress would need to pass college debt relief, voting right and BBB and a 67 vote threshold makes that near impossible. If you dont have a 67 vote majority, you dont really control the senate.

What a joke. Sooner or later they're going to realize being the "Not Trump Party" isn't going to cut it, but by that point it will be too late. 2022 is already a guaranteed pounding, but at this rate 2024 is going to be a nightmare.

This was certain the moment the Progressive Caucus folded and agreed to pass the BIF separately.

Build Back Better was supposed to be the budget reconciliation bill, meaning it would not require a 60-vote cloture to be brought to the floor for a vote in the Senate. But by all means do continue to go on about how ignorant others are and the legislative process.

Democrats don't control the senate. It's a 50/50 split at the moment. But there's the additional problem of Manchin and Sinema being lobbied by corporate heads to sabotage Democrat-led bills, so the split is effectively more like 52-R to 48-D.

Until that number changes, Republicans can continue voting in lockstep to obstruct everything Democrats want to pass.

50 votes in the senate is control of the senate since the tie-breaking vote is cast by the President of the Senate.
