The one thing that doesnt track (and honestly never worked if the Netflix universe was part of the MCU) is that kingpin would be some big scary threat to Hawkeye; but that the literal gods in the avengers would just let him continue to operate (and be a threat to Hawkeyems family)

Didn't all the stuff between Hawkeye and Kingpin kick off post-Snap though?

Not to mention Spiderman could probably whoop his ass with his superstrength

Kingpin is similar to a Lex Luthor figure where his strength is due to his influence and power. Hitting him usually doesn't solve the issue and superheroes don't generally murder.

I like in Ultimate Spider-man he profits off Spider-man merch knowing that the only way for Spider-man to do anything about it is to go public with his identity.

But generally yeah the big issue with interconnected universes like the MCU is you often just have to assume that the more powerful people aren't available for whatever reason.

I almost added a qualifier that I know this type of thing is way worse in the comics, but also afaik they arent all nearly as connected as the MCU is,where each piece is just a part of the greater whole

Yeah, I'm guessing the explanation will be how well connected Kingpin is and that killing him will just cause bigger problems due to the power vacuum.

I'm not sure why people are wondering the canonicity on the other stuff.

They were obviously created to be part of the MCU. Perlmutter is the one who created difficulties and didnt want to work with Feige. So that's why things diverged. Same guy who wanted to minimize the X-Men and F4 in the comics because of the shitty Fox deals he was involved in decades earlier.

Feige is now in charge of ALL of that. He has access to everything without Perlmutter's interference. There's no reason to throw away the Netflix stuff. They'll try their best to go back to the original vision. Obviously, lots of it won't track, but what can you do when it was because of one asshole?

There is a reason to throw away the Netflix stuff when Marvel doesn't own the rights to the stories/plot. I dont think they would want people to watch a competitor to get caught up when they can watch stuff on their platform.

They're probably gonna soft reboot it anyway since the shows have too much baggage to begin with. You can watch them for background if you want but I don't think they'll really mention anything that happened. They'll talk about how Daredevil and King Pin have been at each other before and kind of leave it at that.

Just finished up episode 5, it was good. The reveal of Kingpin at the end was cool. I know there was rumors that he would show up in Hawkeye but I thought they was just rumors.

I can't believe Kate's mom set up Clint to be killed, I didn't see that coming.
