Why do people dislike burning? I think it's a fun ability since it lets you move around quickly. It's from Kirby's Adventure too, and was even featured in Smash Melee (though I guess people didn't seem to like its frame data there). Other old abilities were booted, but didn't seem to attract the burning hatred this skill does. --- "so is my word...It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." - Isaiah 55:11 ... Fiop posted... burning hatred lol --- It's tempting to linger in this moment, while every possibility still exists. But unless collapsed by an observer, they will never be more than possibilities. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I don't like abilities that do literally one thing. It's why I'm not really a fan of Kirby 64. Burning is the worst example because Fire does everything burning does and doesn't only have one move. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Sakurai probably saw burning, went like "why the fuck is this a separate ability?" and then lumped it with Fire in Superstar. --- FFXIV - Faerie Server: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/5086952/ F/GO: 271551102; FFRK: 9k6d; FFBE: 886783216; LLSIFAS: 438166726 ... Its sibling is Fire, and its direct counterpart is Freeze. With this ability, Kirby rages head-on to his opponents. Crashing into a wall is quite rough, but allows Kirby to use the ability again and scale the wall. When multi-move abilities were introduced, Burning and Freeze were scrapped and made the dash moves of Fire and Ice instead. In Super Star, the dash attack of Fire functions quite differently from how Burning was in Adventure. From RtDL onwards, it functions much more similarly to the actual Burning ability. Canvas Curse was the final game with one move abilities, and thus the last game to feature Burning and Freeze. This is one of nine abilities featured in the Dark Matter Trilogy, despite Ice being in these games instead of Freeze. Fun Fact: In the original Japanese version of Adventure, the ability is known as Burning. For unknown reasons, when Nintendo of America localized the game, they changed the name of the ability to Fireball. This would not last, as the original name was used for the North American versions of Nightmare in Dream Land and Canvas Curse. This is one of four abilities featured in Kirbys Block Ball. When Kirby uses it, he charges upwards. In this game, this abilitys direct counterpart is Stone, which does the exact same thing but with downwards movement instead. (Im going to miss this ability. I actually loved using it. Day 14 thread will be posted shortly.) ... Copied to Clipboard!
