They don't deserve most of the blame, but they have their share in it. Same for most of the other horrible things going on because they don't want to even try to fight for anything.

Anytime the supreme court is brought up there's always someone who says "they aren't partisan, they just care about the constitution"

FYI this is actually a sign that roe is likely to be upheld once it actually gets that far. This was a procedural hurdle that the court approved 8 to 1.

At issue at the Supreme Court was whether two groups - Texas abortion providers and the federal government - can sue to block the law.

Friday's 8-1 ruling means that lawsuits from the providers can proceed. With the decision, the ruling will head back to the district court.

Once back in the district court, the providers will now be able to file for a stay of enforcement and ultimately challenge the law's constitutionality.

In the meantime, the law will stay in place. In a separate order, the Supreme Court dismissed a separate challenge brought by the Biden administration.

Even ignoring the abortions the methods of enforcement(Making private citizens bounty hunters) and bypassing many normal procedures is deeply troubling from a moral, constitutional and practical standpoint.

Roe vs Wade said you cant have states passing their own laws restricting abortion but apparently we can just change whatever we want now.

Theres at least three perfectly good reasons it should have been immediately ruled against Texas or at the very least reversed the lower court opinion.

Regardless of what happens to this case it doesnt bode well for the Mississippi case(s).

I mean, if somehow the texas law ends up found constitutional, you'll see all sorts of states going with this sort of enforcement mechanism to bypass the constitution(which is why whenever this law actually has its constitutionality ruled upon, it will be found unconstitutional). What the supreme court was ruling on here was who could the abortion provider sue to attempt to stop this.
