I remember a music game that had great graphics, but the choice of music was so bad that I had to give it up

So what you're telling me is that it let you down so you had to say goodbye

I started playing Tales of Destiny 2 on the Playstation, and the voice acting right at the very beginning was so bad that I stopped playing before I fought my first battle.

I don't consider this *silly* per se but... very specific? I don't know what to call it exactly

I stopped playing Doki Doki LIterature Club right at the beginning when you first get to the club and they're all like "ugh, a *boy*? I liked when this club was all girls" or whatever, and as a trans woman that was extremely triggering for me, made worse because I had used my own name for the player character

I do not play games if they have a multiplayer campaign because I want to play the campaign with people

For example
Kirby games are meant to be single player first and foremost but I missed out on the Wii one and Star Allies because I want to play with others

I don't give up on games unless it bores me and doesn't motivate me enough to continue. So no silly reasons.

- Ys IX - about 5

I dropped Scholar of the First Sin because I was annoyed they put a dragon in the Tower of Flame. Other dumb enemy placements helped lead to my drop but that felt so out of place and really got under my skin in a big way from a purely aesthetic rationale

I gave up on Skyrim because I was over encumbered. I just got done battling a dragon after a dungeon that ended on top of a mountain.

I quit Furi despite mostly liking it because of the close combat mechanics. There probably isn't anything wrong with them, but I couldn't figure it out worth a damn. Once I got to a boss where I had to get good at them I just dropped it.

i might be misremembering some small details but shortly after making my character in Fallout New Vegas i walked outside and attacked an NPC. so they start shooting at me and i run to the nearest building. when i walk back out the hostile NPCs are waiting for me outside and i'm one shot away from death so i die immediately. i can't remember if it autosaved when i went into the building or i for some reason saved once i got in there but i only had that one save file so all i could do was return to that point in the game where my only option was to go back outside and die immediately.

SMT IV

Guest character constantly using an element a boss absorbed, which gives it extra turns and powers it up.

What makes it silly is that the fight was optional and I could have come back later.

The XCOM reboot. I had a lot of money, so I spent it on expensive power armor for my guys, because there wasn't much else to spend it on.

Then, a mission later, I'm told I need money for a bunch of urgent projects or the aliens win. Money that I spent just a mission ago and couldn't recover. So I quit the game right then and there.

Oh, here's a few more.

I dropped Transistor after like 5 minutes because I didn't like the interface.

I dropped Red Dead Redemption and took it back to the store because I couldn't figure out the horse-riding tutorial at the very beginning.

I dropped The Witcher 1 because I couldn't complete the (mandatory) parry tutorial.

I dropped The Witcher 2 because, I dunno, it got cumbersome.

I dropped The Witcher 3 because the combat and movement sucked, it was hard to figure out what to do in a given location, and mostly all I was really doing was watching cutscenes.

IIRC there's a trick to it, like you have to run the bandage significantly further than it looks like. Or maybe you were forgetting to sterilize the area first. idk it's been years but I know lots of people found it tricky

I definitely sterilized, and I think I tried applying it further than it looked, exactly how it looked, and slightly less than it looked, but I couldn't make it happen

Mostly I was just amused that the patient got all their injuries treated and ended up dying from a case of fatally misapplied bandage

I mean what did you expect ME3 to be about

"hey good job guys we stalled the Reapers long enough that they won't arrive in any of your lifetimes so what now"

(also Cerberus never stopped being bad)

I mean just the intro where they were taken by surprise made me roll my eyes. I was like... how is this surprising anyone

(also Cerberus never stopped being bad)

Still a pretty abrupt 180

I'm guessing all of these complaints are from trying to play both games for the first time back to back

There was another game on the DS that was even worse about it. You were a cop assigned to internal affairs, and you needed to lift a fingerprint off of a gun, but the print was wrapped around the grip at an odd angle and I could never get the print off the gun.
