that thing costs 500 bicolor gemstone vouchers, which is 50,000 bicolor gems. that's reaching the 1000 cap 50 times. a fate gives 14 gems so that's about 3600 fates.

i sold some vouchers on the market board and they were going for about 150k each, which means the mount is worth approximately 75 million gil

Can you buy those vouchers before maxing everything out? Theres not enough stuff to buy in the shops to avoid overcapping otherwise (unless youre buying mats)

Except for LTW, which is low 50s, all my crafters are mid-teens to low 20s, so you're way ahead of me on that front. Figure I'll spend some time working on them today ahead of the raid story release tomorrow.

They're basically the same as normal crafts besides using special materials (which you can either gather yourself in the diadem or buy off the market board). You just keep making the same recipe until you can make the next, and turn in what you make near the entrance to the firmament in Ishgard for bonus experience (there should be a blue quest that lets you enter if you haven't already gained access). The amount of bonus exp you get depends on the collectability of the item you make (in tiers).

Ishgard Restoration feels to me like it starts getting a little too expensive once you're in the mid 60s but at that point you have Namazu, Custom Deliveries and eventually Dwarves to cover you. I switched over at that point but Ishgard is still definitely faster.

I stopped Ishgard at around 60 yeah. Switched to beast tribed, gc and custom deliveries and simple leves.

When should we expect the patch notes? Goes down soon.

Patch notes usually go up very shortly after the servers are down. Like 10-15 minutes, definitely within an hour.

i think you have to have all zoned maxed to buy them, unfortunately

before that i just spent all of mine on mousse flesh and lunatender blossoms, they were selling pretty well since they can be used to quick-level ALC. prices down now probably.

but if you're planning to level crafters, you'll also want lots of saiga hide, gaja hide, luncheon toad skin for LTW...

Hmm okay. Ive already finished buying all of the ShB orchestrion rolls I was missing, so mats are the only option now!

it's not really something to do for the sake of the rank 3s, i was just using the fates to powerlevel mindlessly, plus selling the mats was good money. reaching the rank 3s was just a bonus, it doesn't get you much i don't think

It gets you a shitty bow that doesn't align properly with most character models

Well, I'm obligated to finish at least zone 5 and 6 so I can recomplete my Triple Triad collection!

Remember you can always spend bicolor gems in the ShB zones instead, I decked my house out with some of the Amaurot lamps/Lakeland flowerbed/Rak'tika planters.

Plus if you level them to 3 you can get La-Hee on Orchestrion to sell

I usually level like 2-3 jobs worth of XP with FATEs so I get a decent amount of them

Its good XP and mindless so I do it while listening to other stuff

Since I had a ton of Gil for the first time in forever (4 mil), I thought I'd check out mounts on the Marketboard.

Was surprised to see that Construct 8 and the Bozja transformer were only 450k each. Sure the alt color Bozja transformer was 3.1 mil, but that one looks worse anyways.

Only if you do it on Easy or Very Easy. It's the same as before on Normal.

That i565 requirement for normal Pandaemonium is interesting. Makes it so at a minimum you'll need a few pieces of the i570 tome gear before you can step foot in the raid. By comparison, Eden needed i425, which was obtainable just with AF gear + lvl 80 accessories.

What options are there right now to get >560 gear right now? Just tomestones?

Tomestones and EX Trials.

It's not particularly hard to get enough tomestone gear for it, but I don't think people were expecting to have to necessarily.

Yeah, that's also gonna make it kind of annoying to do raids on alt classes.

i highly recommend doing the Ex trials, they're super fun. i think the second is my favorite. I spent way too much time last weekend farming them both- it feels good to have BiS for a brief moment in time

Comes with savage iirc, not normal. There's a lot of money to be made on savage opening day.

Sure there is. Faster queues, changing up the gameplay, etc.

New crafting gear (as in for DoH/DoL) most likely won't be coming until 6.1. It's usually odd patches for the best in slot crafted set, even patches for scrip gear catchup sets.

Crafted battle gear I thought would drop at the same time as normal raids but evidently not, no mention of new recipes.

565 is half your gear in tome stuff which is like a week at most farming dailies. It's fine tbh. As someone sidelined right now with meh internet I don't think 565 is a high bar.

You only have to clear each fight twice before crafted battle gear should be available via the savage patch. You can also just get four accessories week one for an alt class if alt ilvl is important to you to help boost it.

...I may set an alarm for Savage patch day if it's that lucrative.

I've been gathering the Ephemeral Sands and rare gathering nodes consistentally under the assumption they will be involved.

I think you can get all the way there or 1 piece off just from 720 tomestones if you go for right side gear first.

I have 4 tome accs plus dungeon ring and that's 563 or something.

My next upgrade will be the weapon though, that might do it.

aw, just do your roulettes for like 2 or 3 days. i agree with chris- ignore the weapon and get your right-side stuff first, i think they cost like 180 each

as someone used to other MMOs, i wouldn't want to waltz into a raid without half-decent gear, even if i was allowed to, but i know ffxiv is usually different

weapon counts for two equipment slots (blame pld) when averaging ilvl fyi so it might!

FFXIV raiding is basically "trials, but harder." Savage prog/farming is roughly equal to the time commitment you'd throw on a WoW raid a few weeks in when everyone's on farm.
