Here's the scenario we used last year:

The game is simple. The two* listed characters are placed in an (imaginary) location with a variety of (imaginary) environments, kind of like a picture in a child's schoolbook that describes different types of geological features. Within a ten mile radius, there is an (imaginary) urban downtown, exurbs, plains, snow-clad mountains at the edge, dry plains, etc. Fighters start wherever is most appropriate for them, but feel increasingly compelled to seek out their opponent and fight. Strong-willed fighters can try to hold out in their chosen environment for longer... eventually, all will succumb and actively search for the other to battle.

There were issues and I'm very willing to take feedback from last time. Please let me know what you think should be changed. I'm definitely going to be chiller so long as people are acting in good faith and paying attention

A mindless fungus-like creature that seeks out organic life. If it reaches habitable ground, it will burrow itself and spread rapidly. Contact with it causes similar symptoms to burns as it digests the flesh. It doesn't burrow terribly deep, as little life is found more than a few meters beneath the surface, so toxic chemicals and intense flame can generally kill it in local regions. It enters the arena falling from the sky towards a viable patch of earth.

If it's like a Stand, absolutely. If it's like a guardian angel a character has, probably. If it's more like bodyguards, probably not

An excellent marksman with a slingshot, but a coward who will try to win fights by lying about how powerful and imposing he is while trying to come up with an escape plan. Owns many unique weapons including shells that can store and release physical force, bombs that release enormous plants, and a seemingly endless supply of rubber bands.

An unstoppable ego with absolute creative control. Cannot lose a match unless he agrees to it, and will change his mind to keep himself looking strong. Body slammed Andre the Giant, erasing all prior body slams on Andre from history so that he would be the first. Has ruined multiple realities before escaping to another one where the Hulkamaniacs still believe.

Invincibility. Not just Superman-level toughness but actually being immune to everything including poison, (most likely) mind control and the passage of time. Other than that he's only a bit stronger than a peak human (he doesn't have to worry about tearing muscles etc) and loves taunting opponents.

I feel like mid is a good uh, middle ground for Achilles but I'd be open to having him in high if people think he'd be unbeatable for most mid tiers

Yay!

I've said this before but one necessity to me is info about each character in each match. Not one sentence - I mean like a whole paragraph minimum. Last time we had issues where characters were unclear, original nominators never showed up in topics, and characters were disallowed from abilities they would normally have without specifying as such. Having more info up front would help with that.

Super Buu is the most powerful form of Majin Buu and one of the most powerful characters in Dragon Ball. His body, while solid, is rubbery and elastic, and he can contort himself in different ways. He can absorb other fighters and gain their memories and abilities. His strongest form (which we should probably use) is when he absorbs Gohan, which gives him a boost to intelligence as well as power, plus all of Gohan's techniques. He can mimic ki techniques after seeing them once. He seems to have limitless stamina unless he fights another Buu. He also can regenerate from being destroyed, even if there's vapor left from his pieces.

He has lots of different techniques, the most notable being the ability to kill people by turning them into food, and a "Human Extinction Attack" that killed almost every human on Earth with various energy blasts.

Weaknesses: Like most Dragon Ball fighters, he'll prioritize "a good fight with a skilled opponent" over rational thought. He's easily angered and if someone gets the better of him he'll likely lose his temper.

I thought he'd probably be the most fun Dragon Ball character to see, given that he's a little more complex than "I make energy beams and punch really hard" like virtually everyone else.

Bo Rai Cho is the martial arts master who trained Liu Kang and Kung Lao, and an old friend of Raiden. Despite opposing Shao Kahn, he does not compete in the Mortal Kombat tournaments because his victories would count towards Outworld. His unorthodox fighting style incorporates Drunken Fist style, his cane, his big belly (he's pretty acrobatic for a fat guy), and vomiting and farting on his opponents. In his downtime, he enjoys holding kart races around his brewery.

The Snatcher rules over Subcon Forest, where he set traps to capture unwary travellers, forcing them to sign over their souls and do his bidding. If his contracts are broken, he will attack the offender by rapidly causing explosions and shockwaves, throwing volleys of potions, creating numerous clones of his opponent, and turning out the lights then launching a sneak attack while his opponent can't see. He is also clever enough not to make himself vulnerable to attack if he can avoid it. He's not all bad though: when he's in a good mood, he will steal mail and give it to his minions.

When the normally cowardly Shaggy is hypnotized into being brave, he achieves this form, in which he can dodge almost any attack and has incredible reserves of strength, enabling him to perform all sorts of feats using a very small percentage of his power. However, this form requires immense energy to sustain, so Shaggy needs to eat even more food than usual when he uses it. As this is an unconscious state, making Shaggy aware of the dangerous or risky situations he finds himself in can also cause him to drop out of this form.

If UI Shaggy isn't allowed, I'll replace him with someone else. As a joke meme character, he doesn't have any canonical weaknesses, so I came up with some because it wouldn't be much fun if he stomped everyone and it was impossible for him to lose.

Enerjak is an echidna with the ability to tap directly into the "chaos force." This gives him massive reality warping. Some of the things he's done include: teleportation of himself and others including entire cities' worth of people, freezing people in place, construction of entire cities, sucking the soul out of people and using their husks as soldiers, sinking an entire continent (granted, this happened off-screen), taking apart opponents at the molecular level, ramming Angel Island into people, etc. Sometimes he fights with energy attacks.

Enerjak has a few incarnations in the comic, but they all share the same origin (disembodied vengeful spirit possessing an echidna) and powerset, so I combined them.

Weaknesses: Enerjak is as cocky as you can get. He loves to toy with his opponents and rant about his "omnipotence." He is susceptible to having his power reflected back at him, and having his power drained.

Monika is the club president in Doki Doki Literature Club, given awareness of her status as a fictional character. She has full control over the game's code, including being able to rewind or speed up time, change the memories and mental state of other characters, or simply remove their files from the game. She's not at all experienced with coding however, and her changes usually cause severe glitches and side effects.

Her powers make injury and death easily reversible, and even having her own files removed from the game doesn't get rid of her for good. She can use the real world internet somehow, and knows about a wide range of things that don't exist in her own universe.

His ultimate goal is to destroy and then recreate The Multiverse to free it and its denizens from suffering.

Jagganoth possesses complete mastery over space-time coupled with vast magical knowledge. So great is his power that his passing alone can boil blood and shatter bones. He is immortal and conceptually incapable of being harmed on any level thanks to nails forged from angel feathers driven into his flesh which can't be removed. It should be noted however that he can still feel pain, but it doesn't seem to bother him much to the point magic reality warping Death move from another Demiurge only end up making him shiver slightly.

An executioner of The Claw. Sent by the Head, members of The Claw will carry out their mission with single minded determination and brutal efficiency. Outfitted with the latest in technology and singularity based enhancements, The Claw is not to be trifled with.

The Claw is resistant to most means of attack including physical (red), mental (white), physical+mental (black), and spiritual (pale) damage cutting it by slightly more than half.

He is outfitted with various serums linked to him that provides him with a variety of deadly abilities and boons. When using Serum R, his movement speed is greatly enhanced allowing him to go at hypersonic (estimate) speeds to mulch anything his path with raw physical damage. Serum W allows him to manipulate dimensions to a degree, allowing him to target his opponents from great distances and teleport directly to them for an attack that can damage them both physically and mentally. He can also use this directly on them, charging them through a spatial barrier with great force. SPOILERS

Serum K allows him to heal himself of damage. Finally, he can inject a cocktail of all serums at once which leads to a devastating move similar to W where he will dash to anyone targeted by him (can be done at long ranges) and dealing heavy amounts of spiritual / pale damage to anyone in his path

Katamari
The Prince of All Cosmos (and a Katamari)

The Prince is a mere 5cm tall, and comes equipped with a Katamari of the same size. The Prince himself does not stick to the Katamari, and also cannot be unwillingly separated from it. Anything the Katamari touches will immediately stick to the Katamari (and be considered part of it) if it is smaller than the current size of the Katamari. The Prince's physical strength would appear to be near limitless, at least in terms of pushing the Katamari regardless of how much bigger it is than him. The Katamari can capture anything, inanimated or alive, including even some intangible things like fires and clouds. However, as quick and strong as he is, he has no physical capabilities beyond pushing the Katamari, and is, regardless of the Katamari's size, only 5 cm tall. He has, however survived the depths of the ocean and the void of space, as well as surviving being pelted by meteors by a god (who is his dad).

For extra fun, whenever The Prince is around, the battlefield is covered in a littany of random objects of all sizes.

Some spoilers for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5:

Gold Experience Requiem provides Giorno with a massive increase to speed and power, including the ability to levitate. It additionally enhances the power and range Giorno's original powers of giving life to inanimate objects, such as being able to blast a stone pilar into pieces and individually turn each of those pillars into scorpions to attack his enemies. Gold Experience Requiem also has massive healing and regeneration powers. Additionally, Gold Experience Requiem can operate independently of Giorno's consciousness.

Its ultimate ability reverts all of his enemies' actions and their willpower to the state of "zero" or "nothingness". Essentially, this can be thought of as "undoing" reality to a state where the opponent's will and actions no longer exist. The opponent then has their death "turned to zero", putting them in an infinite loop between the exact point prior to death and death. This ability is passive and can activate automatically when Giorno is attacked.

The fat penguin overlord with his mighty hammer. A constant friend and foe to the legendary Kirby, he goes face to face with the pink blob regularly, holding his own against a being that has taken down Lovecraftian, universe-destroying god monsters. His hammer is strong enough to break through stone and metal, and can send creatures (including his own allies) flying. His loyal gordos and waddle dees seem to appear ad infinitum. In addition to his hammer wielding, he has bombs, cannons, he can fly and inhale enemies much like Kirby does, and he can seemingly increase his size at will. Though ultimately, his arrogance (and lack of true evil intent) are often his downfall at the hands of Kirby.

I'd definitely argue Dedede for mid. As early as Adventure he was able to spit Kirby with enough force to shoot him into the upper atmosphere, and by Triple Deluxe he's actively shattering the Mirror Dimension and straight up beating Dark Meta Knight, who has a W against Meta Knight, who is busted. That eventually leading to Dark Mind taking Dedede's form as King D. Mind in that Kirby free-to-play game.

Like even taking out "scales to Kirby" and "could get shot", Triple Deluxe and Fighters 2 putting him around the Meta Knight level makes his ceiling scary. Post-Kumazaki Kirby scaled that whole universe like crazy.

Keep in mind I would credit Dedede a lot higher than average, and I think the people speaking to his credit would too, I'm just trying to think of what the average voter would go for. I know this isn't Mercs but there he was only considered a 2/week out of a possible 7
