I'm sure I'm not the only Whovian on board 8.

There really isn't enough activity for a lot of individual shows. I'm watching the new series though.

I'm only just now getting into the series myself, but my understanding is that the current content isn't particularly calling for a weekly hype train.

What timing! So I finished Season 11 today and. I thought it was pretty alright? Sure there were some embarrassing episodes like Kerblam, but a lot of Who seasons have multiple bad episodes. The next season must be truly something else for Thirteens years to be so looked down upon

The season 12 episodes are of roughly the same quality, I'd say. There is, however, a big reveal that changes a fundamental part of the show's lore and that was very controversial.

Whether or not the current content is worth keeping up with... well, I do think it is in general. Like GANON said, there are some stinkers in there but most seasons of Doctor Who have some real clunkers. I think there's a loud but small minority that can't stand the idea of the Doctor being female now and they're going to bad mouth it regardless. There's also that big reveal I mentioned which I feel people are rightly bothered by (though I'm not, really), but that reveal is late in season 12 and has little impact on individual episodes.

Agreed. Starting from ep 1 of the new season there's plenty of stuff to talk about. It'd have been nice if they could have come out swinging like this with 13. This will be the best season of her run unless they really bomb the back half.

i found series 11 bad with a few bright spots (namely demons of the punjab, witchfinders, and it takes you away), and series 12 an absolute slog. haven't touched series 13 yet - tempted to skip out and just wait for rtd, but i'll probably end up fucking watching it.

I finished the past two seasons recently and it took me like a year to do so. It's just not really interesting anymore.

The new season is one big, eight-part series, and it's great. They swung for the fences and so far it looks like a home run. I think the problem with the last two seasons isn't an abundance of bad episodes but the lack of stellar ones and man... they killed it with the most recent episode. Definitely the best of the Chibnall/Whittaker run.

I'm busy watching classic who to get too much into the new season yet. Though I like what I've seen so far.

As others have said the current series is s huge return to form with the last episode being the best episode of the era. Also LtM I am curious about where you are up to.

Anyway series 11 was an almost total misfire with a few good episodes, they pared the shows story back to much and oversimplified it as well as the lead writers scripts not being great. Series 12 was better but had a VERY controversial story decision overshadow the meaningful improvements they made. Series 13 is actually playing to Chibnalls strengths as a writer with its serialisation and the companions are much better developed now.

Series 11 was boring, which is pretty much the worst thing for Doctor Who to be, and then it made it even worse with an episode like Kerblam with it's pro-Amazon message.

Series 12 was good, but the finale really pushed it to the dumps.

Series 13 hasn't been looking good so far. The first and third episode were a disaster, and the second one was at least entertaining, if not anything extraordinary. Haven't watched the fourth one yet.

S11 had some bad episodes and some okay episodes. No great episodes, which is something I can't say for any other season. Still haven't gotten around to S12 yet, despite following the others.

S11 was decent overall.
S12 was below average overall, largely due to the insistence on adhering to its overarching storyline.
S13 has been hit-or-miss. The more one-off episodes (Sontarans and Angels) have been good, but the storyline-driven episodes have had too much going on.

Season 13 has been the most invested I've been in Doctor Who in several seasons. Looks like Jodi is getting the Colin Baker treatment. A good/great Doctor toiling away doing their best with poor material but get to go out on a high note with Trial of a Time Lord and Flux.

Swarm is a great villain and I hope they stick the landing with him cause I've loved every moment he's been in screen.
