They shouldnt be doing this race-baiting thing or whatever when something good happens to an Asian person, they should instead only be doing it when something good happens to a white cis male. Thats the correct woke way to do it.

it was a tone deaf headline, however I don't like this trend of Asians seizing on white outrage.

Tbf, they're saying "others" view it as a disappointment, not them.

So should they post articles with racist views that "others" have?

It's not even a racist article. I just skimmed through it, and it talks about Boston's history for black people and how much a black mayor will mean to them. An Asian woman doesn't necessarily represent them. "Person of color" doesn't really do it justice.

I do think it's sad that Asian accomplishment is getting swept under the rug again though.

I meant in general. In other words, that really isn't an excuse for them.

And also a lot of people only read headlines of any given article so what the headline says is very important.

If they wrote an article with headline, "Asian mayor wins. KKK members are angry."

Would you assume that NPR is mad that an Asian person won or you take them at their word that the KKK is mad?

This isn't the same thing. Actually the fact that they used the word "others" makes this seem like more of an editorial than if they had named the specific group(s) that are disappointed by this.
