Atm I have to say indifferent since I'm sitting at a client site at 1:30am with nothing to do, just so that someone is available "just in case" something goes wrong

Right now kinda sucks because of Covid, but before the pandemic I loved my job and being able to travel for work. Hoping we get back to it next year

Generally yes, although I am still doing it (teaching) remotely and I do not like it when done this way

I like where I've positioned myself professionally. the job itself can suck balls sometimes but at least it's not boring.

Used to like, think it was ok to hate it now.

The biggest reason is that they removed my workhours, instead of 12-20 I now work 07-16..

I wish nine to five was the standard in my country.

Indifferent. I used to really love my job like 5 years ago (I've been at the same company for almost 17 years) because it was challenging and it really felt like I was making a difference and nobody else could do the job as well as me so it felt rewarding. I generally thrive when my workload is high and I have to constantly work hard to keep it under control which was the case back then.

In recent years though the company has had a massive shift in direction to the point where at times I am basically being paid to just sit in the building and do nothing. I can come and go as I please within reason and have no real oversight but the job is extremely unfulfilling because I'm paid for my expertise/experience but a lot of the time there isn't actually anything for me to do. So I'm torn between getting paid a decent wage to sit around doing not a whole lot most of the time or going out there and finding something more stimulating that will probably make me happier.

Getting paid to do basically nothing sounds like the dream and was good for a while but it feels torturous after a while.

EDIT: I actually put together my resume for the first time in over a decade last week. Whether I'll actually be able to make a jump after so long here remains to be seen.

I'd urge you to switch sooner rather than later. don't think about it, just do it

Working a job I was indifferent to (aka I hated, but didn't want to believe it) was the worst experience and took a toll on my psyche

I'd say working a job that wasn't satisfying was a bad experience, but it's nothing compared to working in a toxic environment. I was super bored in my last job, but at least it was better than that.

I do agree that you will probably be much happier if you find something better

It's pretty chilling and better than what the vast majority of my options were at the time I got it but

A) it doesn't pay very well
B) has fuck all to do with what I studied for
C) saps a lot of enthusiasm for the YouTube channel i was working on, which i feel bad about because i was building some momentum

I like it a lot, but whats holding me back from love is Im wildly underpaid for the position.
