Additionally, on the Final Fantasy Tactics subreddit, a user claims they recently received a "playtest" survey invitation from Eidos-Montreal, asking them if they played FFT and certain other tactical RPGs:

"I just received an Eidos-Montreal playtest invitation (which also playtests Square Enix games in general), and everything seems to indicate they're playtesting a tactical. They were asking if I played Fire Emblem, FF Tactics, Ogre Battle, Disgaea, Into the Breach, etc. At first, I thought this was about Triangle Strategy, but while they didn't ask if I played Octopath, they did ask if I played FF12 and it's DS sequel... the only non-tactical FF games that take place in Ivalice. They also asked if I played FF Tactics PS1 AND if I played the iOS/Android version, which seemed weird, they never ask about multiple versions of the same game."

It was already mentioned once in that nvidia database leak a few weeks ago so sure why not

I really wouldn't read much into this alone, when I played the Triangle Strategy demo I got a survey with questions referencing Tactics, Ogre Battle and the like. Could easily be TriStrat!

Still we'll see. A remaster alone wouldn't be all that hype personally, but at least it'd get more people playing it. They would almost definitely use the WotL translation though.

And when you're leveling up fast classes like thief, you can steal endless gil from that single debilitated enemy at 100% success rate!

On one hand there's. No way I wouldn't get it, whether it's a full on remake or just a major graphics overhaul.

On the other hand, assuming this is the former, I am terrified of the continued homogenization of T and XII which is continuing to taint the original.

And on the latter it's going to have the shitty WotL script anyways.

At least the former is theoretical!

Tactics is a bad game. A bad game with such god worldbuilding and story that it disguises it very well.

WotL was a pretty good remake, aside from the atrocious butchering of the translation. Knowing Square though it will be the original game with none of the WotL extras, but also for some reason with the new translation.
