Dailymail has revealed some of the over 2000 NYC Firefighters who have REFUSED the COVID-19 vaccination after they questioned it's effectiveness, rushed and UNSAFE long term effects including 55 y/o Gary Debiase who served with Ladder 109 in Staten Island for over 23 years and helped saved lives on 9/11 as they face the PINK SLIP!!

Gary is now RETIRING from the department adding he still loves his job but said outgoing mayor, Bill De Blasio forcing all municipal city workers to have a vaccine forced him out who said "They told us the air was clean at ground zero, i'm never trusting what the government tells me is safe for my health again. I wanna go back but i don't want a shot. We're in a position where we can go without a few more weeks forcing someone to take a vaccine is coercion. I absolutely go back to work if they let me, everybody is ready to work, nobody wants to go home, we are hard working tough men who risk our lives everyday but they caused this on all of us and everyone in NYC will suffer"

He said he and his wife are in a position to hold out for a few weeks but after that he is quitting and is being forced to retire rather than a let a hard working man work when thousands of people refused to work.

His heifer wife is ALSO quitting, Anna Rose Carpiento, a sonographer at Bellevue Hospital lost her job after refusing the vaccine and say they are treated as second class citizens

They spoke at an anti-vaccine protest where Debiase said he stepped over dead bodies on the day of 9/11 attacks and went straight back to work the day after after despite the apocalyptic scene he saw.

150 firefighters told dailymail were of retirement age and spurred to hang up their jackets for good over the KILLER VACCINE

21% of NYCs 11,000 strong fire department or 2310 of them are unvaccinated and are sent home which is a 2% drop from 23% last monday suggesting De Blasio's mandate has had some effect

It's unclear if any of these men applied for religious exemptions or if it will be applied

DeBiase said he would get it if it were a REAL VACCINE, one that GUARANTEES it wouldn't get you sick because he's already SURVIVED COVID but says he does not trust ANY government body telling him it is safe and does believes the world are being played

He tells his groupies, if they don't fight this now they will do whatever they want from now on and mandates will be the new norm.

His heifer wife said she hasn't been to work for a month and said she's NOT AFRAID of COVID because she is a STRONG WOMAN who fears NOTHING and that getting the vaccine will show fear in the eyes of their enemy which she will never do...

They said they can' even sit down to eat at restaurants without a vaccine card and finds that abhorrent and now says several firehouses are closed due to vaccine mandates and predict the public will finally wake up to see what government is doing

Anna says Americans were born and bred to be TOUGH people and are afraid of no man OR virus EXCEPT for GOD and people are falling for a vaccine they will greatly regret in due time

I don't know about that. The polio and smallpox vaccines did a pretty decent job of practically eliminating those diseases. Of course the flu vaccines barely work. How else would pharmaceutical companies milk taxpayer dollars? Creating actual cures cuts into profits.

They did, but they didn't do so by guaranteeing people don't get sick. They did so by reducing that risk by enough of a factor that - when combined with sufficiently high vaccination rates - they were able to effect herd immunity. 100% effective vaccines have never been and will never be anything more than a fantasy. Insisting that the Covid vaccines somehow don't qualify as "real vaccines" because they don't meet that standard is foolish.

In some states they wouldnt get far. There is a law that says that your employer can fire you for any reason at all, even something as silly as your shoelaces not matching. Havent really heard of someone getting fired for that specific reason though.

People so dumb that they don't realize that the reason why they have so many nice things in their lives is directly from science. Without science we would still be in medieval times where the pinnacle of technology was an outhouse and a candle.

You specifically cited them as examples of 100% effective vaccines, which was utter nonsense that I treated accordingly. That was all that warranted any attention. Their vaccines were indeed more effective than the Covid ones are proving to be so far, particularly against Delta, but acting like this is an all-or-nothing situation is completely ignorant of how this whole thing works. Vaccines reduce the risk of contracting and spreading the disease, and the Covid vaccines are no exception. That's only going to result in eradication of the disease if herd immunity is reached, however, which is going to require significantly higher vaccination rates than are seen in any parts of the US (and likely some additional control measures like masks and distancing to further reduce the risk).

I really don't know where you people are getting this "the Covid vaccine isn't 100% effective so it does nothing to stop people from getting the illness" nonsense, but it really is idiotic nonsense and you should all stop clinging so desperately to it. That's a ridiculous way to look at risk management that blatantly ignores the reduction in case loads that high-vaccination rate areas have managed to see despite Delta being significantly more contagious than the dominant variants of previous waves (I've heard estimates of R0 values of 9 in some areas, and I cannot understate just how insane that is).

Fun fact: The polio vaccine we receive now is considerably less effective than the one that was given out at the height of its epidemic. That's enough to prevent infection from the extremely low pathogen load any of us are ever going to be exposed to, but acting as though it's guaranteed protection from the disease is terribly ignorant. If any of us were to be somehow dropped into a polio epidemic, we would be in considerable danger.

As for flu shots (since you're so desperate for me to pay attention to that point), they will always be a matter of trying to catch up to a rapidly evolving disease and making predictions about which strains will be dominant in a given season. It's a given that there will be seasons where they struggle to make a significant difference, since those predictions will inevitably end up being wrong from time to time. Nevertheless, flu shots will always provide more public health benefit than harm overall, and as such will continue to be recommended.
