Did you merely post it, or did you strip it of all context and use it to draw conclusions that it does not actually support?

It was the study about myocarditis. I guess I got modded for saying not many people would pay attention to it. It was up for nearly two weeks before some butthurt mod deleted it knowing you cant contest them anymore.

I know the rules of this site. I might walk a fine line but I know what Im doing to stay within the TOU. Why do you think Im still around? This was a clear example of mod abuse with the mod taking advantage of the new system.

So... kinda. Studies without denominators don't mean much for assessing risks, which means that a denominator is critical context for posting a study with the intent of discussing what it means for risks. Leaving that out can mislead people into thinking the risks involved are greater than they are, which in this case of Covid vaccines is significantly impairing the public health response to the pandemic. Fair, next.

Feel free to look up the topic in question on the archive site. It was not a TOU violation. The person who deleted the topic was obviously bias and shouldnt be a moderator or at least shouldnt handle marked messages against me.

I don't need to. I participated in it and have a near-eidetic memory. The study in question summarized OpenVAERS data pertaining to myo(peri)carditis following Covid vaccinations, generally finding that there were more reports post-vaccine than would normally be expected. The study did not, however, indicate the number of vaccinations that took place to produce those results, which is understandable because that's just a limitation inherent in OpenVAERS (nobody reports negative results), but nonetheless must be considered in interpreting the data.

What that means is that the data presented there is useless for actual risk analysis, and should be shared with caution because presenting the raw numbers instead of rates stands a high chance of causing the readers to overestimate the risks associated with the vaccines. You were moderated for that reason: Posting misleading information in a manner that supports a dangerous anti-vaxx viewpoint. In the future, if you wish to share similar studies, make sure you include some sort of denominator so you're indicating rates, rather than raw numbers. That way, you enable the people reading your topic to make informed comparisons instead of being confused and misled by incomplete data.

Incidentally, I already told you all of this when you asked my opinion in the original topic, so I really shouldn't have to repeat it here. Feel free to look up the topic in question on the archive site if you want my original explanation, which covered a few additional details (like VAERS' value for researchers and what should actually be done with studies like this).

It was not a TOU violation.

The epidemic of misinformation surrounding this pandemic has necessitated some more liberal interpretations of the ToU. Things which would not previously have been considered violations are now frequently being moderated if they're felt to comprise dangerous misinformation, though the ToU have not explicitly been updated to spell that out. Irresponsibly posting studies like that without the appropriate context falls under that umbrella, so you were modded. Simple as that.

That should never happen. Rules should be taken as literally as possible. Anything else would be mods making up their own rules.

That sounds an awful lot like "wrong think" to me. You act like there's some kind free speech. Better get with the times. Only terrorists speak their mind without following the pre-approved narrative. Are you a terrorist?

There's precedent for moderating people for trolling for encouraging people to do dangerous things. This really isn't any different. Some subjective interpretation is always going to be necessary, since human behaviour is too diverse for the rules' wording to ever hope to explicitly cover everything that's needed, so I'd say that's good enough.

Fortunately, being moderated on GameFAQs is one of the most trivial consequences possible, so erring a bit on the side of caution isn't exactly a big deal.

It wasn't your imagination, but it does mean you don't understand body temperature very well. If you did, you'd give people a chance to warm up so superficial temperature readings were a more accurate reflection of their core temperature.
