I've been annoyed over CNN recently and decided to consider FOX News, only to be condemned for doing so. I asked for other news sources elsewhere, only to be told off. So is there anything else worth watching? Or should I not even bother with the news anymore?

Deutsche Welle isn't bad if you want a more euro-centric source. There's also Euronews.

I'm a fan of The Atlantic and Ars Technica.

This is pretty accurate: https://adfontesmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Media-Bias-Chart-8.0_Sept-2021-Unlicensed-Social-Media_Hi_Res-1200x950.jpg
AP, Reuters, NPR, BBC - look for primary sources that question the issue and try not to add a bias to the discussion. Obviously every news organization is going to have its own bias, but if they are going out of their way to try to be less biased you will have more factual and instructional news.

Does anyone actually think the Young Turks are news anymore? Even if you agree with them politically, there's alternatives that don't behave as children, lie constantly to further their agenda, and also aren't named after a group that committed genocide, at a time where the founder was denying said genocide.

I don't believe it's possible to be able to read any news story and know "the truth" in the way you mean it.
You parse out "the truth" by looking at various sources, seeing what corroborates each other, understanding the information (which involves its own work), and verifying. Even if you go through those steps, if your sources are Fox&Friends and FaceBook your reality is really going to be confined to your own bubble. And sometimes even if you do all the work, use reliable sources, try to verify information... you will still stumble upon false information because the sources had the wrong information to start (the response to 9/11 is the most obvious example).
I don't even think being biased is necessarily a cause of misinformation. See Hunter S. Thompson's take on the matter. The problem is when that bias seeps its way into what information is presented and how. Contrast the use of loaded language used by Fox News to NPR, one is trying to push an agenda, the other is (usually) trying to not push an agenda AND present information. It's the difference between being persuasive and being informational, there will be overlap but the distinction comes from intent and presentation.

Actually, CNN is pretty bad. But not because of political bias. Their issue is poor journalistic standards; they rather frequently have dubious sources or run stories too early. But that has less to do with bias and more to do with poor editorial oversight.

You could almost say they're like clickbait news.

It's almost impossible to talk about Fox News without mentioning how completely insane their commentators are, but up until fairly recently (maybe 2019-ish), they had better core journalistic standards than CNN. But unlike cnn, they are also disgustingly biased, so I don't consider that to be much of an advantage for them.

They used to do that and rightfully got shit for it but was it ever frequent or consistent? They botched the election in 2000 and fucked up with their sources on that worthless dipshit maga hat troll face prick kid who ended up suing them. Yeah they should have fact checked that story properly, but aside from those 2 blunders, I haven't heard about anything else like that... and their election coverage has been actually slower for predicting winners than other outlets after they shat the bed in 2000.

And during the 2018 midterms I was trying to follow both. CNN was covering the election and analyzing the data. I switched to fox and it was a messy headline bar while 6 people were all yelling over each other about immigrants.

I think they actually had some editorial shake up last year, so who knows where they're at now. I just don't like cnn, or really any of the major syndicated news networks. It's a shame, because ABC and CBS used to be excellent journalism.

Jesus fuck no. Word of mouth is just whatever the Chinese bots, 4Chan anons, discredited conservative news station, oddly large radical Facebook group, radio host or their drug addict pastor say but gets progressively more insane the longer its passed around.

Video and on the scene stuff sure but fucking word of mouth is useless poison.
