For what it's worth, I'm sure they've seen worse. Whatever you do and say is only going to end up telling them more about you and better equipping them to help you, so don't worry about behaving "wrong." If you're nervous, let yourself be nervous, because that's simply a part of what you're trying to address and nothing to be ashamed of.

It's just stuff that will come up I've kept inside for years.

Remember therapy is a marathon, not a sprint. Don't expect results in the short term.

That's not to say that if you're not fully comfortable or feel you're not getting the most out of your sessions that you shouldn't consider changing therapists, but you should give this one an earnest chance to work out a plan for treatment before evaluating that.

Yep. In some ways, that's gonna suck. In others, it's gonna be great. You don't have to let it out all at once, just take your time and get comfortable enough with your therapist that you feel you can trust them. If you're struggling with developing that trust, say so, because your therapist can help you through that (possibly by suggesting that you change therapists, actually, but don't jump to that conclusion).

I am doing better than I was before but don't know exactly why. The therapist didn't think I needed to be on meds but I might have to once I go into the deeper stuff. I think that I always thought depression was major issue but at this point I think it's anxiety.
