That pharmacist handled it exceptionally well. You don't hear many stories about pharmacists who have to deal with crazies, but y'all know this shit happens daily for them.

What I don't get is what this person hoped to accomplish by filming the encounter and posting it online. Like did he think people would take his side?

People aren't overdosing because of the pills made for humans, they are overdosing because they are eating the horse paste (which ironically people take because they can't get the human Ivermectin).

And even then, the story that Rolling Stone ran(and msnbc and a ton of other outlets used) about a gunshot victim not being able to get a bed because of Ivermectin filling up hospitals was a straight up lie.

The guy was a nut, sure, but there is no real harm in filling that shit for him. In the state of Texas they are required to give him a referral if they can't fill it.

Yes they will down the street at a mom and pop's. When I was 24 years old (and totally healthy, 165lb 6'2" without a limp or anything) a Walgreens filled for me:

180x 30mg Oxycodone
270x 10mg Methadone
90x 2mg Xanax
180x 350mg Soma

Every 28 days for me and like 12 of my friends (none of which actually had anything wrong with them other than being dope fiends and/or drug dealers, and some of which are dead directly from taking these prescriptions).

And that wasn't the only pharmacy my friends went to either. But Walgreens as a company doesn't give a fuck for real and neither do most pharmacists. If they did they'd had seen the red flags from my old pain doctor a mile away.

This is actually a case of a lack of common decency. A Doctor saw or talked with a patient and prescribed him medication and the pharmacist refuses to fill that order because why? Like what is the huge deal here?

Could you imagine being prescribed a medication from your doctor and moments later your pharmacist refuses to give you the medication?

Like okay, it's fine if the pharmacist believes Ivermectin doesn't work. That's okay. But it HAS worked for many people. So why would you literally prevent someone from helping themselves the way their doctor told them to?

That's like someone refusing to give you the vaccine because they don't think it works. Like okay, it doesn't matter. It works.

Just give him the medication.

It didn't work for Joe Rogan, it's like saying that a can of Sprite and some tomato soup cures the cold. Just because the person recovered doesn't mean it actually helped treat the underlying problem or any symptoms.

Wait so how are you getting to the conclusion that ivermectin didn't help Joe Rogan? He took Ivermectin early on, wasn't hospitalized, recovered rather quickly, etc. The logical conclusion would be that Ivermectin helped.

Did you want scientists to surround Joe Rogan the whole time he was sick to test if Ivermectin was working or not?

Sprite and Tomato soup aren't medicine. What a terrible analogy lol.

Just give the man his prescribed medicine and move on. It's not that hard. Even in the Pharmacist's position, say if he doesn't believe Ivermectin works, he already knows the patient is not going to get vaccinated. So for the patient's health, what would be better? Not taking anything at all? Or trying out a medicine that has been noted to work?

If it helps him then great. If not, he wasn't going to take the vaccine anyway so God be with him. I don't care how much they disagree, the patient is still a human being and should be given the chance to take something that may actually help him.

When have we been so quick to forget the people we disagree with are our fellow human beings? We should be quick to have mercy not quick to anger and resentment. That goes for both sides.

It wasn't pulled out of my ass, because it really happened, I can link you to articles about my old doctor (he is in prison) and I can link you to the article about my friend dying and what all he was prescribed.

My point was a mom and pop place WILL fill it, straight up, because they want the business and there is no actual harm in filling it. But Walgreens CLEARLY doesn't care about what they fill or they wouldn't fill outrageous amounts of benzos and opioids(especially methadone and Xanax in that high of a dose). Do you know what the CDC says about that?https://www.cdc.gov/drugoverdose/featured-topics/ioad-benzo-overdose.html

BroodRyu posted...

Yeah only because the DEA and medical boards pressured the pharmacies, after thousands of people had to die for years before that happened. How many people have died from (human dose) ivermectin overdoses from taking them as prescribed? Probably none.

And my beef isnt with you personally so don't take it that way. It is with the whole pharmacutical/healthcare industry as a whole being hypocritical about this shit.

Ivermectin hasnt been proven to work. There are no high quality, clinical studies that say that it does. All youre describing is anecdotal evidence, the weakest form of medical evidence.

Just because a person took ivermectin and got better does not mean that ivermectin is the reason they got better. There are so many confounding variables that are likely to be present. We are not going to hand out a medication that has no proven benefit. The risks (literally any side effect) vastly outweigh the benefits (none proven or demonstrated).

But they don't have your full medical history, do they? I've never been asked about my symptoms, history, pain level, etc. by a pharmacist. So how would they know what is or isn't appropriate for me?

Is there some communication between the doctor and the pharmacist that goes on while you wait for it to be filled?

Honest questions, I don't know.
