The girl had been killed weeks ago with NO investigation prior to "vigilantes" (ie, activists and protestors) -- as you defame them -- taking the case to social media and other places until the police had to look into it. And it's inherently problematic to suggest, "Well, if some people are allegedly phoning death threats, then people shouldn't be allowed to picket!", considering it opens the door to very easily shutting down the right to demonstrate since at that point anybody who wants to get rid of a protest just has to report getting death threats. If criminal conduct is occurring, it should be investigated.
