And honestly I couldn't tell you anything about the story.

Did you get the Ireland DLC?
Are there hot Irish women talking about how they'll stroke your clover for a pint?

Does it actually have that much content or did the microtransaction bait they started putting in make those games even more of a slog?

I do that all the time in AC games. Like I'll play into the story a ways, and then I'll just spend weeks focusing on side content, collectibles, and exploring, and when I come back to the story I have no idea what's going on

By the time I got to the end of Odyssey I didn't really care how the main story ended because I already had closure on all the side stories, lol

Did they overdo it with Odyssey and Valhalla? AC Origins was one of my favorite games of all time, I absolutely fell in love with the world and with Bayek's journey, easily one of the best protagonists of all time, not just AC protagonists.

But the first 20 minutes of Odyssey indicated to me that this wasn't the tightly focused game and story that Origins was. The very fact that there are those stupid dialogue choices and options that western games have gave me a sinking feeling. I really hate that arbitrary shit

I can't speak for Valhalla, but Odyssey to me felt like it had multiple major plotlines going at once. So instead of feeling like it was focused on telling a singular story, it felt like it created chapters in a long journey and you could sort of tackle it in whatever order you wanted. The overall feeling was that I was creating my own story.

And fwiw I also liked Origins a lot, largely because of the focus on Bayek and Aya's story. The games just hit different notes for me

I stopped caring about AC stories after 3 screwed over everyone who gave a damn. Now I just buy based on if the location/setting is interesting to me.

The microtransactions are just cosmetics. It's a grind if you want to earn a bunch of currency naturally, but it's not like you feel you're missing out on someone when you play.

The game has content, but I guess it depends if you like the content. I've always liked exploring AC maps and the small little side stories you discover are fun. I turn off the extra map help to make it more organic.

I really enjoyed the mechanical loop that Odyssey had: do quests, get new gear and abilities, use them on the next quests. Kept me going for 100 hours even when the story couldn't. I really missed that stuff in Valhalla.

Do you mean like where instead of putting a map marker, it just has NPCs give you general clues and let you find it yourself? I really liked that in Odyssey

AC Valhalla has the main overarching story and then every region has its own "ministory".

Not every region is connected the to the main plot but you still have to finish them anyways lol.

I'm like 80 hours into Valhalla and nearing the end of the main campaign. Still got the Vinland, Ireland, and Paris stories to do after I'm done, and want to get some of the better gear and weapons.

I like how each area is sort of a separate story, like Norse myths.

It was about brotherhood, leadership and selfish desires. Both Odyssey and Valhalla had some good narratives. Origins was a bit bland.

Why didn't you just do Vinland when it told you to go there >_>

Valhalla had a pretty awesome story at the end of the day, just took a while to get there. Loved it more than Odyssey's.

Oh
Yeah I didn't bother with the DLC at all, especially since the packaged in the more mythological fantastical stuff into the main game instead of releasing it as DLC >_>
