Wow, that first match! It's a difficult choice. I'm sad I have to vote against Kobayashi (SPWB is one of my favorites from him; moments like 5:41 fill me with joy)... I've been pretty consistently Horita > Fukuyama > Kobayashi in the matches so far, but I'd vote Seashore Probe over a lot of the other composers' stuff (It'll be interesting to see how each composer did when the first round finishes.) This match should be illegal! Actually, I might have to abstain for now.

2:05 in The Devotion God is cool...somehow it ups the already maximized tension.

GOVU is weird in that I like GOVD more purely because there's four extra minutes to listen to. GOVU feels like a sampler by comparison; a really tasty sampler mind you.

The Whole New World needs to be a closer for a lengthy-ish epic song (Ala di Immortalita/Unfathomable Darkness/Over the Universe to name a few) for me to truly appreciate it. It feels so empty on its own despite the second half being good.

GOVU iok you large larson i knoe deal with it deal it. and yeah. but some nonsense or so. i dunno why the GUERRANT- tracks are consistently the ones i like the most in vol7-8(Ep5) but i think it has something to do with "pat metheny group" but also the Heroic Intensity that is desired for that particular context

Seashore Probe ~ Wopal (Battle) is like the dance song but more ';real' and illustrates thte blur between jazz fusion tropes and 90s edm tropes that no one knows exists because they are too busy dividing it up. hidedaki kobayasho even said that was the "Goal" of pso2 music once, whichi s a great mindset for my ears

it isn't even Kobayashi bias here. Seashore Probe is an absolute bop, interesting throughout its whole lomg runtime and so fun too. GOVU is another Guerrant song, so it's obviously good but not too special

Devotion God is easily my favorite of the EDM EP6 tracks, but the Whole New World is just brilliant. A great song on its own, a great arrangement of the original PSO theme, and a great way to cap off all of the game's major boss fight themes
