I've been debating the same thing. I've never played a Far Cry game but the co-op looks fun. Although apparently only the host's story progresses which is kinda lame

Played it a little last night. I can already tell I'm going to enjoy it more than 5 (which was my least favorite entry so far) but just a few short hours in its showing that it's the same ol' Ubi formula back again.

If you're getting burnt out on the Ubisoft blueprint then you might want to avoid. Otherwise, you pretty much know what your in for. If you wait a couple days til I play it more I can give more nuanced thoughts

PS4 Pro. I can say that the cutscenes stutter a bit which surprised me. Hopefully it's better on PS5. The game itself runs pretty smooth so far

I really want it but I keep trying to tell myself to wait on buying new games until I can get a PS5. My PS4 is at least 7 years old and these new games are really taking a performance hit now.

I'll buy when cheaper. It looks like more Far Cry and I'm fine with that.

Ill say right now that none of the performance issues I was worried about have come remotely close to happening. So thats a huge plus.

I have stuttering in cutscenes still but the gameplay is smooth on PS4 Pro. It's weird I would expect it to be the other way around hopefully the cutscenes are smoother on PS5

Digging the game, though. The addition of these "resolver" weapons adds a lot to the chaos of battle

I've been playing it heavily and enjoying it but I have a hard time recommending it at full price (or $50) solely on the fact that Ubi keeps retreading the tire with these games

If you've never played Far Cry I'd recommend 3 or 4 over this as you get a similar (and superior imho) experience for much cheaper (although those aren't currently on PS5...)

There's a rumor of a Far Cry 3 w/Blood Dragon port coming to PS5. I'd honestly wait for that and see how it's priced, and by then maybe FC6 will have steeper discounts if nothing else

I agree with pretty much what Far-Queue said. Im enjoying the game because its pretty exactly what I wanted: Far Cry on a new map with some slight variations. Having said that, I dont know if Id say it quite justified the full price of $60, but maybe $50.

i didnt see what platform you were on, but if its less than a PS5 Id say hold off. There werent any significant hardware issues for me (enough to stop playing) but every time I enter a new region in a vehicle (especially aircraft) its takes a good 15-20 seconds to unfreeze.

Blood Dragon is set to release in December (its the only one I havent played), but if the Far Cry 3 remaster is available to you then definitely check that out.

tl;dr: Im having fun, and definitely getting my 60 bucks worth. But in terms of really changing up the Far Cry pattern it doesnt do much. For me, not an issue; but for other people that might be a turn off.

I havent been able to get PS5 yet, but can you buy digital PS4 and still play them on it?

if so, do what what FQ was saying and get the 3 remaster or even 4 or 5 for dirt cheap and try it for a little bit if you have the time. Thats my suggestion anyway. To me its almost just the equivalent of an action shooter Pokmon. Its the same shit every time they just change it up a little bit.

Yeah Cacciato I feel the same, I'm getting burned out on Ubi games becayse they're so "samey", but at the same time I keep coming back for more and (mostly) enjoying it

I compare it to comfort food. It's not necessarily gourmet cooking, and might not be the best food available, but it hits you in a way that satisfies so you keep going back for more even though there's better stuff available if you're willing to shell out for it

Nice. I agree with Far Queue, since its the first one for you itll probably work to your benefit. Plus they got rid of the dumbass climb the tower to reveal the map BS.

I dont know if you spend money on add-ons, but Id suggest getting the King & Country bundle since the handgun and gloves were a huge help.

also you need Industrial Circuits for some of the best upgrades. Once you unlock the Bandido missions if you mess with those youll end up with more than you know what to do with.

the whole point is you overclock it and wear the gloves to increase damage even more

fifteen dollars isnt a lot to me. And if it is to you then dont buy it I guess

fifteen dollars is a lot for something you can just make yourself as soon as you get a helicopter, so like, the first 20 minutes of the game

You keep skipping over the whole overclocking and gloves thing for some reason.

played for like an hour and a half last night

reminds me of a first person just cause with shooting mechanics that arent from the PS2 era. pretty much exactly what i wanted out of it.

graphics are pretty bad though and Im usually very easy to please in that regard

pleasantly surprised by how many RPG-lite mechanics there are

There's literally only one set of gloves in the game with the Silent Assassin perk, and the only way to get them is through that bundle or just running around randomly opening Libertad crates

Yeah, and you still have to have a weapon that can be overclocked, you cant just overclock any weapon. Those weapons are only through microtransactions or Lola's Black Market, and not all the microtransaction weapons are on the black market.
