No, but it's still really funny to poke fun at sucky NFL teams by saying that Alabama would beat them.

Yes.
Sometimes a 16 seed beats a 1 seed. And by sometimes i mean once ever. But even if it's minute, there is indeed a non-zero chance.

A college team could probably win against an NFL team without too much trouble. The trick would be to compete in something other than football. But if it has to be football, the NFL team would always win.

I would probably set the spread for Jacksonville Jaguars vs Georgia Bulldogs at around Jacksonville -31, and I think Georgia stands a reasonable chance of covering that

Of course it's possible, regardless of how unlikely.

It's non 0 but saying its not likely is an understatement.

Way back when there used to be a match of college all stars vs the super bowl champ. And at first the game was competitive. But the NFL grew over time and eventually started to dominate the matchup.

Like, remember, that's the best college has to offer (which albeit now means all future nfl talent) vs the super bowl champs. So if it's like that team vs a very bad nfl team? Or lets say they have a year of prep to play together etc? Then yes, I do see them winning that matchup a non insignificant amount of times.

But just a normal college team like even Alabama or Clemson vs a nfl team? They COULD win... but won't.

Any chance? Sure.

If an all time great college team plays an all time bad nfl team using college rules, and only the college team does any preparation and the nfl team clearly doesnt care.

It's entirely possible that a good team from a school like Alabama or TOSU would beat a disorganized NFL team with injuries, but those circumstances would have to present themselves perfectly. I'd say the overall chance is one in one hundred thousand or so. Those are such infinitesimal odds that my answer is "no." Finding a shiny Pokmon without a shortcut method is easier.

A Drew Lock Broncos team would score 40 against them.

Most there roster will be lucky to ever make an NFL practice squad and 80% will never start a game for even the worst NFL team.

Wrong. Georgia beats Drew Lock by 40 with Bennett starting, probably 60+ with a healthy daniels

Good note from ChronoCarl above- yes an NFL team used to play the College All Stars every year, and back in the 30s and 40s the game was competitive... but by the 60s and 70s it had become a joke because the NFL team would win so easily. There's a good writeup about the history of the game here

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/07/23/42-years-ago-today-the-college-all-star-game-came-to-a-rainy-end/

As for modern football, no, even the best college team wouldn't have a chance.

As many people have mentioned, it would take a very specific set of circumstances (NFL team being completely injury ridden, have no motivation against a highly motivated all-star college team) for it to be close to competitive and even then the NFL team would still be heavy favourites.

Think about it this way: A single college team having lots of players drafted high is considered a huge deal to the point that team is considered OP in college. And yet lots of high picks don't even play at all in the NFL their first year, let alone at an NFL caliber. Like what was it, clemson a few years ago when they had that epic WR corps with Lawrence? That was considered bananas. And that was like 4 players out of a necessary 22-ish needed to compete with an NFL team, and even those guys, even lawrence who was the best of the bunch, is struggling right now in the NFL.

There is just no way it's happening.
