Affair Guy

Honestly, I wouldn't be opposed to a poly relationship. That's another element that weirdly makes things harder: I've met her husband a a decent number of times, and like, he's actually not a bad guy from what I've seen. It's not like he's abusive or anything. From what she's told me they've just kinda lost their spark a bit, but she still cares about him and doesn't want to divorce him.

Honestly a poly relationship would probably be weirdly preferred, cause I really don't like having to lie and keep all these secrets. But I don't know how we would cross over into that, or how willing her husband would be to go along with that. Especially since we already started things off as an affair.

It's a difficult situation that I never thought I'd find myself in. Like, I've had a decent number of relationships and have an ok amount of self-confidence, but never in my life did I think "Oh yeah, not only would I fall for a married woman, but she'd like me back and we'd have a fucking affair."

Shit's wild.

That one guy should have some more self confidence. I fit 2 out of 3 of those descriptors and I have a loving partner. Also a lot of women find bald to be beautiful.

It's hard to build up that confidence if it's already beaten down I imagine. But doing so would make his life a lot less miserable

It would be nice if you stuck around. Your topics are always really fun and I enjoy talking to you but you always leave after a few days. I don't blame ya. CE is stupid (get out while you can) but still, if you were around more, that would be nice. Harpie sightings are too rare

I honestly just get busy, and ce is a low priority in my life. The reason I'm back is because I'm likely withdrawing completely from this quarter (college), and I only work two days a week. I like posting here though and I there's a lot of people here I love talking to and seeing too ^^
it just takes up so much of my time is all

I know nothing about game creation, but I am writing a game. I have big ideas for it. People I have spoken to have compared the idea to the Person series. I haven't played them. I don't know about that. It is meant to be somewhere between an RPG and a sort of GoW action fighter. I am focused more on the story. It takes place in a parallel solar system where celestial bodies are less like actual planets and more like metaphorical versions of planets and their namesakes (for example, the Mars planet is a warmonger's haven...)

The premise is that intelligent "Insectoid" life is encroaching from the outer planets just as "Earth" develops the technology to go out and explore. The story gets much heavier and deeper, as the main group encounters foes such as a parasitized wasp queen, a time-manipulating mantis, a giant water beetle or toe biter the size of a whale, etc....

The truth of the cataclysmic event lies at the very outer edge, and it is within the best interests for the "humans" and "insects" both to rush there as fast as they can to save they worlds they know... but a hidden truth lies much closer.

I know nothing about game creation... but I want this to someday be a reality. So long as I have time, I will not give up on it.

Definitely dont give up on it, it sounds awesome so far. Id definitely play it

I am on a bit of a time crunch, so this is a basic summary of what happened, but it encapsulates how sad and pathetic I am pretty well

Last month I was involved with someone who I'm pretty sure was a narcissist. We met randomly on an app and the guy was really flamboyant, but very charming -- he had a ton of red flags, though -- he was literally married to a woman (I'm a guy, so he was bisexual -- he said he was in an open marriage, but I'm pretty sure he was not), he was way too excited about me having just met me. He said something like ""My friends are gonna love you, you're so hot"" (I'm actually not hot at all lol) pretty soon after we met, which was shady AF.

I didn't really care about the red flags because I just wanted some sex, so I met him again, but then he started being really affectionate and saying a bunch of things that felt pretty powerful to me -- it led me to have a huge crush on him pretty quickly, so I got scared and didn't message him again for a while but then he messaged me asking to meet several days later. We met and had even more red flags, one of which being he referred to us as ""together"" even though we had only met like 3 times (and he is in a relationship already... wtf). Around the same time, he literally said that he wanted me to get attached to him because it was a turn-on for him -- odd that he would just openly admit that.

Still, though, the affection was pretty irresistible and we met another time, I think a week later. This is pretty embarrassing, but this time we were just making out in my car (he felt like he ""needed to see me""), but a cop randomly came next to my car and asked if ""we were good"" which seemed shady and like that guy had done that a lot with people before (why would a cop just randomly come next to my car? doesn't make sense). He used the excuse that I was giving him a book from my car, which the cop believed somehow, but now I was stressed because I wanted the book back (it was actually a family member's book). I met again and that meeting sucked, so I canceled our next meeting because I realized how shady he was, but now he is contacting me again.

He asked why he hasn't heard from me and I was basically honest, I said that I felt too attached to him and wanted to step back, and that this didn't seem like a good situation for me and it made me feel sad and pathetic because he was married, and was probably sleeping with other guys besides me too (I was also seeing other guys, but not very often and I didn't really like them). His response seemed kind of weird and insincere, it was basically something like ""Thanks for telling me, I wouldn't make you do something you don't want to do, I'm sorry for putting you in that situation, I was probably too forward but it turned me on (lol), I respect your decision -- but I never thought you were sad or pathetic.""

It sounded like he knew I was attached so I said ""You knew I was attached and were okay with it? I guess it could be okay for us to keep meeting if we have stricter boundaries because I can feel it going away"" (the sex was really good so I do kind of want to keep meeting him lol) and he said that he didn't realize how attached I was and ""he will respect however I want to proceed, and if nothing else, we can have a good friendship,"" which seems like a manipulation tactic because we weren't friends before and barely talk. I don't even actually like his personality much, just had a crush on him.

The sad thing is I am thinking of meeting him again for the affection that comes with the sex as not many other people have given me that... but logically I think it is best for me to stop meeting with him. Last month I kind of relapsed on my eating disorder because the experience with him was very stressful and draining for me, even though I'm okay now, it is clearly unhealthy.

you are lucky you didn't throw up on the floor of my apartment (or anywhere else that would have been annoying) today since an appraiser had to show up and look around everywhere and my landlord was probably nervous about this (appraisal got postponed and I heard him doing more work in his place after he told me that)

I forgot where I was going with this but apparently I ran out of swiffer pads and the swiffer spray bottle was empty so I half panicked but puke on the floor would have been a problem for that reason

basic summary

"Insect game person" again. I do know someone who has dabbled in programming/game design and I have another friend who understands the story element. Does this mean I could make it happen? I dunno. I won't get my hopes up but I won't rule it out. I'm working on writethrough 3 now and I expect there to be several more before I can even think about gameplay mechanics and actually designing it. Story comes first. Interestingly, the friend I've shared ideas with has been a fairly harsh critic of it and while I am terrible at accepting any sort of criticism, I have welcomed it in his case because I know that he knows what he's talking about, and one of his biggest criticisms has been involving something I was very indecisive about in regard to my final boss.

He straight up said "Don't do this, do that. I makes more sense." Prior to what I had shared with him, I had been wavering between "this" and "that" and while I had settled the other way, I was still on the fence. I barely even shared that indecision and he knew a change had to be made and called for it with no hesitation. I respect that, and I know that he was right. My current draft reflects the change. I doubt I could ever make this game happen, but if I do, he will get credit and if it actually reaches a development phase, I would try to get him on board with the project officially, like... inner circle.

He's been a friend of mine on here for over a decade. We had a falling out many years ago and I was an a******... but we ended up being in the same competition at the same time and I was like "Let's bury the hatchet and work together because we could do well if we do." He agreed and we did. He won that competition. I finished 3rd after he voted me out and he was rather distressed about it, thinking I would be mad and revert back to my s***ty ways that had caused conflict in the first place... but I was not. I was his ally but also his competitor and he was right to fear that I could convince the jury (players voting for the winner) to vote for me. He voted me out because he wanted to win and he was right to do so. As 3rd place finisher, I was on that jury and I voted for him to win and campaigned on his behalf because the best player must be the winner in games like that and he was certainly the best player.

We have bouncing game ideas back and forth. He has been critical, but very constructively so, so if there was a chance this game could happen, I would officially want him on the team, and in fact, in like an executive position, like next to me. We bring out the best in each other I think.

Anything is possible if you keep working at it, honestly. If you are serious about this game, it will happen. This seems like a great project with a good possible partner, and I'm excited for you!

The backstory between you two sounds like it came out of a movie, so there's that too lol

I have been talking to the 14 year old daughter of friends of mine (shut up it's not weird I've known her all her life) and she told me she has been abused by a friend of the family, who's 31 years old, among other people. They made out a bit but she didn't push him away or anything. Other people have slapped her butt as well, walking to the bus stop.
Now she told me this in confidence. I was shocked. She kinda played it off, she wanted it herself and so on. Someone took advantage of her for sure, but she doesn't really see it that way, yet she kinda does.
Now, she is also in contact with more dudes online, she feels she gets the attention she needs from them, that she doesn't get from her own parents. Again, she knows she's being groomed, but she's ok with it?
Now she told me this in confidence, and I respect her wishes to not tell her parents, but should I tell them? They don't have the best relationship, when she tries to talk about her problems they say she shouldn't be such a drama queen etc.
I also don't want to fuck up our relationship, I mean, I don't want her to lose her trust in me.
I feel like I have to protect her but in doing that I fear I will mess up her trust in me, and I kinda feel she needs that right now.

this whole thing is a yikes from me dawg. You need to tell her parents or some authority immediately, the fact that you are hesitating is honestly pretty disgusting. She is not safe, and she needs out. Don't be selfish and "keep her secret," otherwise you play a role in her abuse. You are also really teetering the line on grooming here
