CE is no different, if I posted the stuff you posted I would expect the exact same type of demonizing. I am just an incredibly stubborn person with a dedication to things I consider to be important truths, and also a (possibly niave) perspective that "if you just phrase it perfectly, it will get through to people." The internet isn't a great place for it, and something like twitter would be worse. And where I'm at is that I try not to make a hobby of it, my energy would likely be better spent writing a substack or something where those who might be receptive could read it and I wouldn't have to bother with the recreational arguers. The 2 things that do "pull me back in" when it comes to CE are: There are several good/reasonable people here. I consider you among them, and it matters to me if I can share important data points with people like you that you might not know about. I don't get to make up your mind for you and I wouldn't want to. But I do like sharing important information that isn't as well known I do get kinda peeved when I am reminded of the scope of the corruption and inaccuracy of our current sense making news system. It's hard to watch somebody break down the latest study that shows 2 things, and know that for many people they will only hear 1 part of that study, and that is the part that makes big phrama money. I'm so sick of big companies just "winning" when it comes to getting to tell everybody what the truth is, even if it's bad faith bullshit. That's not how reality works, that's not how science should work. If people are lying about some important things, even if it's "anointed" people like Fauci, we as a healthy society need to be able to talk about that. I'm very pro free speech and very anti authoritarianism. And so when I see a growing trend of "science is not decided by data but by authoritarian force" I get very upset and it is hard to bite my tongue. The world has important detail and nuance, and it just feels icky to let the bullies shape all the narratives. The bullies and the rich.
