Like if ultimately the joke is "Transgender people are icky/weird/etc." that's just transphobic. "Lol I'm pretending to be transphobic and telling transphobic jokes" isn't inherently a joke either.

I feel like people saw a few comedy acts where someone makes fun of racists and what they believe and walked away being like "The funny parts are what they as a fake racist said".

I kind of agree with him. More so in fact that he was calling out the ONLINE LGBTQIA+ community. They take the littlest instance of anything, flip it, amplify by 100% and then create outrage. I don't agree with him on the "Gender is a fact" notion though, that's where he loses me.

Pretty much, although obviously some subjects are more sensitive than others at any given moment. That and there's some measure of nuance when it comes to the nature of jokes.

One doesn't have to be an abuser to recognize an abusive personality. It's not a "takes one to know one" situation, although there is evidence that abusers often like to gaslight themselves as "the victim".

I'm pretty sure anyone who comes into a topic with their first sentence directly attacking another user by name (and then insisting that attack be ignored so some manufactured "debate" can happen) is distributing some warning signs.
