It's a hard choice, but the prequels kept the spirit while being shitty films in a lot of ways. I fucking love the cast of the sequels but it doesn't save the tone... honestly if they had nailed the humor it would have been all I needed.

Eh, part of it was I saw the prequels as a kid. Phantom Menace is a self-contained little adventure story with jedis and poorly veiled mystique. Clone Wars is an action film. Revenge of the Sith really nails the characters down.

Agreed that the PT feels like Star Wars and the ST doesn't, regardless of how good the casting is.

Revenge of the Sith and TFA are probably the only watchable movies in the OP.
I will give TPM some props for the pod race which was new and exciting and the duel at the end.

Prequels absolutely slaughter Sequels. TLJ ensures that comparing the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy will end in utter and complete failure. That's what you get when your middle entry is so far below Batman V Superman in terms of quality.

I can't choose, they all suck as individual films. The Force Awakens had potential to be the best one of those in the poll, but the Last Jedi made it worse retroactively.

The prequels have memorable music and sound effects at least. They're also rich with original concepts and ideas.

but the sequels don't have a story at all, it's just emptiness and random running around with no real goal or objective or reason. even the flashy moments aren't very iconic, only comedic, so that's not even the point either.

The ST was a barren wasteland for good lightsaber combat, an incompetent supposedly trained force user vs a literally untrained girl. Kylo who trained under Luke who is suppose to be such a threat and then training under Snoke loses badly to Rey until TROS which tries to give him a shred of dignity back.

Rey should have been losing left and right trying to run away not be able to actually defeat the only other active saber user in the ST.
