I was thinking about 24 earlier and how often there were these insane convoluted plans depending on so many things going a certain way for the good and/or bad guys and just somehow never backfired and fucked up everything.

But what is the most utterly insane one? What is the one which just worked out near perfectly when it should have fell at the first hurdle?

Persona 5. Can't say much more other than talk to Futaba after you finally catch up.to the present. Favorite part was that they forgot about a key detail and had to basically improvise the day of the plan.

While the plan in "the sixth day" ultimately fails, it had been working for a really long time prior and no one ever suspected anything.

Similar vein to 24 there was one in Homeland in s2 or s3 where I just went 'Fuck off! There's no way something that complicated and dumb worked'

Oh actually now that I think about it, Kain's plan in the Legacy of Kain / Soul Reaver series is so ridiculously improbable there's no way it should have worked.

Everytime they make these big complex plans it always goes wrong but they still succeed.

Code Geass has some pretty absurd and very specific plans that actually work. Legit relying on someone having a conversation with a recording levels of planning.
