I go into work everyday unmasked. Sit in a room thats about 30 x 30 feet no windows with about 6 people usually in the room. We have several people who are unvaxed. Nobody has quite become sick over the past months so we're treating things business as usual.

Looks like we are in another spike here. We were down to around 100 cases a day in July and now our seven day average is 4.5k.

We're in medium-high alert cuz of the nearby city being overwhelmed and our tiny hospital taking in their surplus patients... but everyone IN my little town stayed masking even when the "wave" ended cuz the mayor was like "Edmonton gunna Edmonton us again"

It's very bad. We're days away from a collapse of our provincial health care system. They will begin to triage ICU patients shortly. The school I teach at has had over 30 COVID cases in the past two weeks, and that's only the ones that chose to share their results (or even get tested). There's a mask mandate but 80% of students don't even bring one to school, and admin does nothing to enforce it. I wear mine because I'm not an asshole.

I don't care anymore. If you die, you die. If you're unvaccinated, go fuck yourself. I've done my part.

Mostly under control. People wear masks indoors when its mandated and then most do where its not. The ones who test positive usually have no symptoms and quarantine anyway. Most fatalities are people that are unvaccinated that thought their lifestyle made them immune.

Almost entirely non-existent.

And I live in a very small town of less than 20,000 people and almost nobody is wearing any masks.

We're seeing our biggest spike ever because we lifted lockdown restrictions too early. We were doing so good, too. A year of progress undone in weeks.

We have nothing on lockdown as far as I know and folk are free to not wear masks and social distance. Some folk still do it but it's nice to have the choice. Not sure what percentage is vaccinated but old folk have started going for their boost if they want it. I know several people who are not interested in getting the vaccine though where are others are fully vaccinated at least but no boost yet that's if they bother at all. Whatever way it doesn't matter to me.

Nyc-
around 2% positivity rate.

most people are vaccinated and being safe but there are still a number of knuckleheads you see not wearing masks In locations indoors where they are required or people congregating on top of each other when being a bit more arms length away wouldnt hurt.

i think the fact we got hit early and hard really made most people take covid very seriously and no one wants to go back to a lockdown. Even with spikes starting to rise around this time last year we never went back to the early numbers.

schools re opening and de-bozos incompetence is the concern now.

im expecting the numbers to rise around November/December but I dont think it will be anywhere near the spike of last year around that time. Largely due to the high vaccination rate.

Here in the 'burbs life is normalesce: the main difference from before is that there are no organized gatherings and kids are masked at school. (Well, apart from the outer burbs i.e. Republican areas) And also I'm on month 18 of my work-at-home isolation unit. I described myself to others at my office as a rogue one-man-band in my position BEFORE COVID...now I feel like Milton in the basement. I'm increasingly unsure if they remember they're paying me.

As for masking, yeah, once my 9-yr-old is vaccinated and everyone has had a chance to get a shot I'm not wearing one anymore. If I continue wearing one after that point...why? It's not as if the anti-vaccers are going to change their minds and (more or less as a result) it's not as if the virus will ever go away. Unless I plan on wearing a mask for the rest of my life then would be the time.

Not that I ever, you know, leave the house and have to wear one in the first place. Stores barely even stock things anymore.

About 10,000 cases in my county of 60k people. 200 deaths in total, about a quarter of the deaths just this month.

I don't go outside, but delivery drivers have been showing up masked or unmasked, completely at random.

It's creeping up, fuelled in no small part by students coming back and presumably with a larger surge incoming from a massive street party said students held last weekend. We had been doing extremely well (averaging 0-1 cases per day), but that inevitable fourth wave has arrived and we had 83 yesterday (7DA of 29). Fortunately, the government walked back the plan to eschew mask requirements on the 15th, which stuck me as being very silly because the proof-of-vaccine plan isn't being implemented until this coming Monday. We'll see what happens with that.

Fortunately, we are doing quite well for vaccines (over 80% of eligible people vaxxed, over 70% of the total population), and compliance with control measures has been pretty good because we've seen considerable success in the past (which does wonders for motivation). Hopefully, this won't be nearly as bad as the third wave (which can be entirely traced back to a single family coming from Ontario and failing to isolate), since that hit before most of us were eligible for vaccines.

Yeah, Alberta's in trouble. Thankfully, Kenney walked back his insanely idiotic plan of no longer requiring positive people to isolate and stopping pretty much all testing, but they're still in really, really bad shape.

Not really sure, but A LOT of people are not wearing masks even though businesses require them. Of course, the businesses arent enforcing that. Probably because theyre afraid they could get shot.

Had to go look.

In my city, a lot of people are wearing masks, but you still see some idiot plague rats not bothering, or getting pissy with staff for being forced to go out of the store to get one. Nevermind that there's signs on every damn door.

I'm not sure about my area in general, but someone at my work just tested positive. They worked the 27th through 29th of September, and I worked two of those days. Though I am led to believe they, whomever it was, is from another department then me, some of us, myself included, do tend to travel from end of the store to end of the store on a regular basis because of our work duties. <_<

So yeah.
