I am so excited to have a book by "KamikazePotato" on my bookshelf. Also to read it but it is a great conversation piece

It's technically a collector's item too, as right now there's only 4 paperback copies in existence! That's how many have shipped. Ignore the fact that you can easily make more by ordering more.

well i just found out that one of the 4 make-on-demand amazon sites closed down so maybe one day this won't be a service they provide anymore. that's 25% of production for the USA shut down so I guess this isn't that popular what with the existence of kindleunlimited for most books printed at a MOD

Comparison of KENP gained in the same timeframe on Day 3 vs. Day 4. So far, the 9PM to 10PM hour block has been killing it as well.

Day 1 Peak: Best Sellers Rank #641 in Kindle Store
Day 2 Peak: Best Sellers Rank #529 in Kindle Store
Day 3 Peak: Best Sellers Rank #485 in Kindle Store
Day 4 Peak: Best Sellers Rank #375 in Kindle Store

Consistent growth in the rankings! Algorithm be praised. This is probably coming to a head, as my paid advertisements are losing effectiveness, but who knows. The algorithm gods work in mysterious ways.



Here's a chart of the direct book sales for Day 1-4 (the leftmost bar is Pre-orders). In total, 358 direct copies have been sold. 24 of those are paperbacks. The bulk of the sales come from Day 1, largely thanks to my incredibly awesome fanbase which supported it, and helped push the book up the Amazon rankings. Would not have done this well without them. After Day 1, the sales fell to a much-lower (but still very solid) number. No idea why so many people bought Paperbacks on Day 3, though.



Here's a chart of Day 1-4's KENP. KENP, essentially, is the number of pages people have read of your story on Kindle Unlimited specifically. The Day 1 push was able to get me enough momentum to draw in new readers, and the KENP numbers have been doing gangbusters ever since. As a fun fact, my readers (and ranking) tend to dip in the first half of the day and surge in the second half.



If you're a low-to-mid ranger author in popularity, I heavily, heavily recommend going with Kindle Unlimited.

1. 39 people have put in pre-orders for Book 2.
2. Two people have signed up for my mailing list.
3. I currently have 52 Amazon reviews. 46 of those are 5 stars. Unfortunately, I only have a 4.5/5 star rating on the top of the page. First world problems.

Did some research and the rating is influenced by other factors such as whether or not the book was directly purchased, and it just so happens that all my negative reviews were direct purchases, while a lot of the 5 Stars come from Kindle Unlimited free downloaders.

Slight decrease in sales/rankings today, but it's still looking to be my 2nd best day so far, so I certainly can't complain.

Been trying to think of more (non-paid) advertising methods. I've probably exhausted them at this point, but it's still a fun exercise to consider.

Managed to snag a #1 Best Seller ranking by sneaking my back into the underrepresented Teen & Young Adult Loners & Outcasts category. Not sure how much I like the Teen & Young Adult branding, but I'm hoping the shiny Best Seller tag the story has when doing a general Amazon search will be worth it.

I think it's a book that COULD fit fine in the YA sector. There's worse things there. It's the branding that might turn away the early-20s that make up my target audience.

Hmm...this might err too much on the side of self-promotion, but eh, fuck it. I'd appreciate it if anyone who has the time/inclination give me a 5 Star review on Amazon when they have the chance. Trying to hit 100 reviews while not getting tanked too badly by the random low-star reviews bringing down the average. No pressure at all though, I *should* be okay regardless.

As a reward I'll give...uh...more stats?

I didn't pick the demographic, the demographic picked me. LitRPG readers are largely aged over 17. At least 22 in most cases. I don't have actual data to back that one up, but based on the the fanbases I've seen, it's accurate.
