I'm not anti-immigration.
I'm not anti-undocumented-immigration.

But if our chief concern is safety, it needs to be a universal concern and not have loopholes. I don't like the way it sounds much more than you do, but I think it -- like the pandemic itself -- is an ugly reality.

I'm not anti-undocumented-immigration.

We do not force these vaccinations on anyone. There's a choice- even for those who work for businesses with over 100 employees. Get vaccinated, or submit to weekly testing.

People illegally entering the country need to be dealt with however the immigration laws require them to be dealt with.

It'd be inhumane to force a vaccine on an undocumented immigrant against their will, not to mention difficult to track depending on if that person were to attempt to reenter the country. And I'm sure that's a human rights issue as well.

I believe legally it'd be difficult for the powers that be to mandate something regarding immigrants seeing as how they aren't citizens. The mandate in effect does not say that citizens have to be vaccinated, its directed at employers. If our government respects the rights of it's citizens and leaves the choice up to them, what right do they have to take that choice away from people fleeing into this country?

However the risk of an undocumented immigrant infecting a citizen with covid can be limited if the citizen they're coming in contact with would just get the damn vaccine.

One of my friends who works at some organization dealing with immigration told me that a lot of immigrants who do get intercepted are getting vaccinated after they're taken into custody.

Eh, doesn't quiet work like that. There is such thing as herd immunity. As well as a limitation in regards to what our medical system can handle. The more people vaccinated, the less strain on our hospitals, as well as less of a risk of even getting infected and a lessening of the symptoms if infection occurs.
You're comparing the thousands of people fleeing into our country to the Millions of citizens that aren't vaccinated.
I'm seeing a few answers in this topic that speak to what you're asking, it seems you're choosing to overlook them.

Are you not aware of the implications? Being tested weekly is a punishment and not even clear yet of the exact requirements. Not working for a company with 100+ when someone has a good career is a punishment. You can dance around it all you want, but you're the one being disingenuous. Biden's policy is insidious. Someone is technically free to choose, but their family, children and financial stability will be dramatically impacted. Yeah... not much of a "choice".

Why can't Biden mandate a choice to enter the country and get vaxxed or be sent home? (hint: He can and he can do a lot of things. It's clearly not about public health at this point)

You haven't answered anything. Biden can choose to impose these measures or restrict border access altogether. There's no effort to restrict COVID at the border. It's open doors. And it's open doors by his choosing. He has MANY options.
