It is pretty sad to know that even with all of these people being really stupid and not following precautions dying that there is an absolute excess of people who take glee in their deaths and getting to say "told ya so" who I absolutely never want to associate with

Yes and it is very fair to be upset with her, but happy that she died or taking any amount of joy in her life is very far from taking the high road.

Just say "sad that she died, it is really stupid that she didn't take precautions to prevent this, but it is sad that she died."

So many people are trying to dunk on people who are dying of covid. Maybe just don't do that. Just point to these cases as a cautionary tale and encourage people to get vaccinated and wear masks.

Neither one of you are doing anything helpful at all. Trying to dunk on a dead person is stupid. Just encourage people to follow proper covid precautions and get vaccinated. Pointing out anecdotes generally isn't that helpful anyways.

Yeah it's generally too late for those people. It's why we are now seeing more cases of once a family member dies of covid the surviving members will get vaccinated. We have been seeing vaccination rates increase as deaths have been increasing.

I never said you had to pretend to mourn her death. I never said you should be sad. I said you should comment that her death is sad. Death is always at least somewhat sad. You're just arguing with your own poor reading comprehension.

Maybe just don't contribute to the political polarization of this country?

The timing of RBGs death and getting replaced by someone with judicial views very contrary to RBG was an absolute tragedy

Why are you arguing with a straw man? I'm saying it is wrong to gloat over anyones death. Though I will say I feel a ton more compassion for RBG than someone who had the resources available to them to protect themselves from covid and chose not to use them.

they brought this on themselves.

i lost sympathy for these people because these last 2 years I have been taking care of these clowns and they still refuse to listen and put others in danger, and refuse to help end the pandemic. And in the end we physicians get no appreciation for what we do other than a useless announcement saying hur dur healthcare heroes. So I deserve to say to them thoughts and prayers, should have gotten the vaccine because fuck them.

there are so many people who could have lived back when we didnt have the vaccine, including my chairman of medicine who I trained under. So them being antivax is absolutely fucking offensive to me and they should be punished with their lives.

That is kind of different though. Motorcycle helmets aren't necessarily gonna do much if you've been ejected from a motorcycle. They're still pretty deadly with a helmet. My state has never required helmets.

Quite frankly, if you're at the point of being in a motorcycle accident with or without a helmet then you're gonna be in serious trouble. There is a lot a person can do to better ensure their safety while riding a motorcycle that has nothing to do with helmets.

Like eye protection is clearly a much more necessary safety device for motorcycle riding than a helmet although helmets do tend to come with eye protection. Eye protection is like always (or nearly) required in states that don't require helmets.

There is a giant difference between having sympathy for them and just not gloating over their deaths. People seem to think that if you're not gloating then you're sympathizing. There is a very large space in-between those two things.
