It has social commentary that's like a brick through your window but that's not even the worst thing about it. The script is AWFUL, the acting ranges from over the top bad acting to completely emotionless non acting. The plot is convoluted, and the jump scares and "horror" aren't scary at all.

The movie is just a total miss and yet another lazy, reboot cash grab that has the ingenious marketing technique of trying to bait in people to discussing it by having heavy handed race/political messaging.

This is something I don't mind feeding into, though. Like I said, I hope people see it. If you read this and it makes you want to go see it anyways to "own the Nazis" then have at it.

I think topics complaining about getting modded are rather pointless since it's not like things are going to change around here or that anyone really cares that mods aren't "fair". That said, CE does seem to be an especially sensitive board when to comes to things that question or criticize certain issues. Oddly, I actually find "right wing" posts less likely to be modded on Politics then here which is odd because that board is the loudest progressive echo chamber on the site. Okay but seriously, has anyone actually seen the movie besides TC? If so, can you actually articulate why you disagree with him? Because the constant echo chamber of "lol you're having a meltdown/I think you're secretly racist/right-wing/etc." is getting kinda corny. With that said, TC did not do any favors by being overly aggressive in his responses. I believe TC only started getting snappy when people were relentlessly rude to him. That said, you're right that feeding trolls doesn't exactly help a situation. Still, I don't think anyone would appreciate having harsh accusations unjustly hurled their way by the majority of people.

I don't want to "victim blame" but that kind of comes with the territory on the internet when you publicly state something very unpopular, especially when it has to do with politics or religion. With that said, it doesn't excuse the people accusing of TC being a white dude pretending to be a black guy and started name calling him as a racist. But the reason people get trolled easily is when they respond back in a very aggressive fashion, hence why CEmen like Rika gets made fun of a lot.

Because from my perspective, it looks like he's saying that liking Candyman is a left-wing opinion, and this entire topic was made in response to people who didn't agree with his opinion that this was a dogshit movie.

Which I mean, we can argue whether that constitutes "snappy" or not, but it is an incredibly ass-blasted response to people not agreeing with with him over a movie. To then equate a political stance to liking this movie or not is just overkill.

Like if I'm mistaken and the "left wing opinion" is something else, maybe there's something else to be said here. Otherwise, TC had a total fucking meltdown because people didn't agree with him about a movie. It comes off as super pissy and insecure on his part, and I imagine from the way he was posting itt that he was being just as obnoxious about his opinion before he made this thread.

This whole thing basically started in another topic (look up Candyman in the search bar; his topic should pop up), and eventually devolved into this. His opening post explains why he didn't like the movie, and to my knowledge, it's only after multiple pages of people assuming the worst of his character that he abandons diplomacy.
