Its exhausting. The amount of times hell come over to show us tweets or posts taken out of context or sensationalist headlines just to rage is ridiculous

everything is a lefty/communist conspiracy to this guy. I do listen to what he has to say and let him get it off his chest but I just dont care that much man

I wish this was sarcasm but alas. It's not easy at all unless you real sensitive and immature (teen/kid) or some very unstable adult. Even on this site there's some people that get on my nerves. But it's nowhere near "all the time" and its certainly not enough for me to be going on rants. Cause I'm not crazy.

I do find it irksome when folk get hot and bothered about social media but they continue to use it and no matter how many times you tell them nobody cares they still carry on. Still even before social media some folk were like this over normal media. Some still are so it's not shocking. Obsession is real.

It's the same thing as when people say "Oh I hate drama, I don't do it at all", and then jam their nose up the closest persons ass about their family.
People say they hate getting mad, and then read up on random awful things in the world, and spend hours looking at stuff that makes them mad.

It's not the same thing at all. You're comparing regular dramas/arguments etc to being in a constant state of outrage and/or paranoia. Get some perspective please.

I wish more people had a mind to stay off the internet and social media so much but they prey on dumb people like your coworker so it's kinda their thing.

The thing is they enjoy it. These people are usually attention whores and get off on being outraged at whatever. So that they can then go attention seeking and get validated for their nonsense. When they get ignored that's when they actually get pissed off for real, not the fake outrage.

Pretty much. It's why I avoid Twitter and generally don't touch FB. Who needs it?

I work with 4 guys like this. You can try to talk to them about reality but they just kinda shut down and stop talking and then come back to the next day saying how the United States doesn't exist as a country and is just a corporation based in London and the IRS is a private company and all kinds of other just flat out insane stuff.

Actually that reminds me, they thought the US currency would go defunct in August, and that clearly didn't happen.

Dude I used to be on Twitter non stop. A couple months back I quit because it stopped being entertaining for me. Thats what rational people do. All the bullshit on there can quite literally be filtered out, so people that feel outraged all the time want to. I don't feel bad for them they're all clowns.

I use social media myself however only sparingly and find it very easy to not bother with it at all. The most I use it for is for keeping in contact with the very few people I care about. You're right though. Frequent social media users who plaster their life all over social media do tend to be part of the same hive mind. I find it ironic that I used the internet in my teens to escape the real world and now I use the real world to escape the internet.
