In Britain we only have 3 varities, Blue Lidded - Whole Milk, Green Lidded - Semi Skimmed, and Red Lidded - Fully Skimmed.

Fully skimed is pretty much water and is awful, especially for making tea. Green is the most commonly used, perhaps due to tea making again as I've heard people say that whole milk isn't great for tea, but I personally didnt' notice.

Skim milk shouldn't even legally be called milk. It's vaguely diary based water.

1% and 2% taste almost exactly the same.

Whole milk tastes like coffee cream.

Compared to skim? Yeah, it is. Not compared to whole or anything that would qualify as cream, obviously, but if you're used to drinking skim (or even 1%, to a lesser extent), it's a bit overwhelming (much like drinking whole when you're used to 2% is a bit overwhelming).

It's kind of entertaining just how thoroughly one gets used to the type of milk one drinks most often. Anything richer/leaner than that is really very striking, unless you start drinking that regularly, in which case your previous favourite starts to taste weird.

Fat Free it can be pink (walmart), green (wawa) pale light blue (shoprite), yellow (Giant).

Also no one calls it Skim Milk over here in the US, for instance.
Walmart calls it Fat Free 0% milk, wawa "nonfat" milk, and the others fat free milk

I've had to use milk in my coffee before. It tastes nothing like a creamer.

I didn't know there is a flax milk. I want to try oat and cashew one day. Haven't had rice milk since like the early 2000s so can barely remember it. Soy milk was the worse but haven't had it since then too. Almond was the best from what I remember. I also had some almond butter recently. Hadn't had it in such a long time but I like it more than peanut butter I guess.

The only difference between either one is how much fat they have. Sometimes fat is better to have in certain foods.

It would be impossible to eat Grape Nuts dry. It tastes better if you let it soak and get soggy anyway.

I've seen both I think. I can't remember what it was called in California. I only ever bought it to use for coffee before I started using creamers.
