No matter the combo I could never beat it with bullets. Even with some lightning bolt extra and jolt. But I get this 300% dmg mod on the special lob explosion along with another 144% mod from Aphrodite that adds weak and the damage on it is insane. Then I get a crit and deflect duo crit thing with Artemis that makes the wide area blast deflect and make a window of extra 20% crit chance after any initial deflect. Then I get a 30% special attack speed mod from Hermes and it lets me spam the thing.

Hades never stood a chance.

It's amazing how in this game as well as UnderMine how the oddest combinations end up being badass. I never used the special. I thought it was weak. I only picked it due to fated choice fulfillment.

Edit: You should've seen the last stage. I was just walking into the little rooms and pressing special over and over and instakilling them. I just had to get out of the way. The 300% mod hurts Zag too albeit only a small amount.

In both games, I never really see the combinations as odd... They always seem like they would work together. It's more about how you play and what you use... Or what kind of run you're doing...

Cluster Bomb+Rockets is a good time. Horribly unreliable because of how hammers work, so it's hard to build around (though either one on their own is strong enough to justify building around the special), but shotgunning everything with massive explosions is delightful.

I'm sitting here after just failing a 2nd Charon fight having only gotten to Hades like 8 times and a max heat of 3. 32 to me seems impossible. I think I may have to settle with beating it with every weapon and moving on. Maybe giving Artemis Ambrosia and pretending we lived happily ever after.

I love this game, but I don't think I'm willing to go 100% on it. I don't want to burn myself out before Tales of Arise. I didn't platinum Tales of Berseria because I didn't like it as much. I'm going to try and 100% Arise.

It gets easier as you go, particularly as you collect a decent amount of blood and upgrade your aspects.

Oh, I'll definitely keep playing and beat it until credits. I just don't think I'll ever be as good as doing 32 heat on the pact. I know I could do it, but it has to be at certain seasons in my life where I am willing to go that far.
