I don't think so, Buffy has a few explicitly gay characters and all of Spike's relationships are heterosexual.

A character can be straight but still be coded queer, it's more about if the show took deliberate inspiration from the queer community when creating the character. I don't know enough about the show to comment.

I have no idea whether or not he's a racist, but apparently there are recordings of him using racial slurs so it's a distinct possibility.

Angel is very masculine and makes most of the rest of the male cast look less so in comparison, except spike. So no.

yeah the context here is that i said it was weird how all his relationships were straight since he was obviously queer-coded, and they disagreed that he was queer-coded at all.

he does mention having had sex with angel before when they were in the whirlwind, but yeah all his relationships on-screen are het.

Canonically, Billy got the look from Spike.

It's pretty strongly implied that Angel/Darla/Spike/Drusilla used to have incestuous sex parties where they'd swap partners around, which included Spike and Angel doing things with each other.

Like when Illyria was talking about how the Circle of the Black Thorn wouldn't notice Angel unless he sacrificed one of his "intimates" (in this context, she meant close friends/comrades) and Spike said "No worries there, love. Angel and I've never been intimate." (*beat*) "Cept for that one time..."

Not since Anne Rice, no.

Though Le Fanu was pretty clearly writing Carmilla as a metaphor for lesbianism, and that predates even Dracula. So it's always been present to a greater or lesser degree almost from the beginning of the modern Gothic-influenced perception of vampires.

Anne Rice pretty much made the subtext into universal text, though.
