Do you support prison time for positive covid people who break the law?

State Health Officer Dr Thomas Hobbs is asking Mississippians that they must immediately self-isolate at home on first knowledge of infection with COVID-19 regardless of vaccination status for 10 days or face 5 YEARS IN PRISON!!

It comes into play at a critical time when the stat is facing a massive covid resurgence with only 1/3 vaccinated with 36.6% and is the second lowest in the country behind Alabama for vaccination!!

The mandate precisely hints that people who test positive must stay at home until they are "fever free for at least 24 hours" and exhibit improvement of other symptoms

A negative test is not required to end isolation however once the 10 days are up

People at home must avoid contact with other cohabitants including family members and no visitors and you must wear a face mask

Individuals caught defying the orders will be fined $500 and might face imprisonment for 6 months but any person who fails to follow th elaw of a health officer is a felony and is punishable by up to 5 years in prison plus a 5000 fine

Desperate times for call for desperate measures when the majority of the people in the state are not following guidelines and just 8 days ago an 8th grader died from the virus after attending school with no mask mandate.

Dobbs says they are in the worst part of this pandemic and have surpassed previous peaks by substantial margins

Do you support prison time for positive covid law breakers?

Fair, next, provided there's some leniency for legitimate mistakes (like thinking the setup they've got at home qualifies as isolating, but missing some key element for qualifying) and resources are available to allow people who don't have a suitable quarantine plan to isolate (such as quarantine hotels).

I agree with this.

Yes. They know they're infected with a potentially fatal disease, yet they deliberately expose others to their virus. That's basically bioterrorism at this point.

They're choosing to endanger other people, they're literally committing bioterrorism.

Who is surprised Mississippi and Alabama are competing for degeneracy.
