The era Myst came out was probably the only period where I was really willing to play anything on PC, and mostly stuck to adventure games (and Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines because it never got a non-PC release), but I've shunned PC like the plague for at least 15 years now. It's not really one specific thing, as much as it is a lot of little things that add up to me just not being interested. For me personally, I don't like how most headsets work (or fail to work well) with glasses, and I'm pretty much blind without them. I tend to sweat whenever I wear anything on my face and head (I don't wear hats), so I don't really have motivation to wear headgear at all. As I've gotten older I've had motion sickness issues with some games, and VR is blatant for that. VR tends to work best if you play in short doses, and you can get serious eyestrain or headaches if you play more than a few hours - and I don't really play games that way (and worse, I rarely play short games at all). VR also tends to go hand-in-hand with motion controls, which pretty much require you to have an open space and a willingness to play that way, and I don't really have either (I pretty much loathe modern motion controls). VR also requires you to put the headset on which monopolizes your sight and hearing, and I'm not really comfortable not being aware of my actual surroundings. Most games made for VR are are either games that are made for a normal controller and then "adapted" into VR (in which case I'd rather just play them normally), or they're games entirely built around VR and motion controls (in which case I'd rather not play them at all). Which tends to make VR as a whole feel like little more than an unwelcome gimmick for me. On top of all that, VR like the Oculus is right out because it requires a gaming PC, which I'm obviously not going to ever own if I don't like PC gaming. Even something like PS VR is out because I'm not going to spend $400 on something I see as little more than a gimmick.
