Yes No Does he sound like an american white kid to you after listening to that video? - Results (6 votes) Yes 50% (3 votes) 3 No 50% (3 votes) 3 19 y/ Aviral Chauhan who was born in India but moved to the United States at an early age has vitiligo where his skin would change colour to near completely white leaving him unrecognizable since childhood..but he's accused of CULTURAL APPROPRATION because of it while celebrating hindu holidays with family!! He had no idea he had the extra rare condition until he spotted a white patch on his eyelid at 11 It soon spread ot his elbows, then knees and then all over his face and body where it was completely white by 13 He lives in Minneapolis where he admitted it was a struggle growing up as people would comment asking if he was adopted or an albino But now he's learned to live with the trolls accusing him of this where the idea is a person from a different culture adopts a certain culture's practices as their own but now he realizes he doesn't have to prove his identity to anyone He's a business student now who said it sucks he can't recognize himself from old photos as he doesn't even look the same anymore as people said he sounded SO WHITE with his skin colour that they never realized he was actually Indian Aviral says "I might look white, but my family and culture are still Indian and i try my best to stay true to my identity" He was born in Kanpur and moved to America in 2008 with his brother, Adyvyay 11 and mother Mohini, 39 and father Jitendra, 44. Aviral says his family practices a good blend of indian and american cultures and although they don't worship everyday, they celebrate Hindu holidays such as Diwali He doesn't necessarily go out of his way to people he's indian but he would never pretend he's not even though he sounds like a WHITE GUY and he and his gf joke about it all the time that people think he's a typical white kid..
