I didn't expect the Results and Discussion topic to reach 500 when I made it, so I appreciate everyone for the discussions. If the previous topic purges and anybody wants to see past results from the contest, let me know and I can share them. Maybe someday I'll even figure out how to throw it all on the Board 8 Wiki. I also appreciate your votes. At the start of the contest we were sitting in the 25-28 vote range for Round 1, but in Round 5 we've reached as high as 50 votes, so I'm very pleased with the growth throughout the contest and I hope it continues as we near the end.

While I have your attention with this opening post, I want to mention that I'm still undecided on what Round 7 will be. I had initially gone with a score differential deal, but I have some other ideas floating about in my head that I'm interested in running thought experiments and discussions about. I'll probably take a day or two break after Round 6 (Golden Parcel) and in that time share what I've decided or potentially ask for opinions on preferred format.

Next up in Round 6, aka the Golden Parcel round. The basic gist is this: Characters are randomly placed into a 1v1 match with another character. Users will vote by initially ranking all ten characters in the round +10 to +1, 10 being most yay and 1 being most nay. After that initial ranked vote, you may give any character in the round a golden parcel (GP) that is worth +5 points. The round goes on for five days. Each day you may hand out one GP to any character of your choosing. You may only rank vote once, however, and you cannot hand out GPs until you have rank voted.

All voting is done in the same topic from start to finish. At the turnover of the day, you may hand out another GP. Voters do not need to wait 24 hours from their own GP. As long as the new day is ticked over, they may cast a GP. At the start of each day, I will provide an updated tally of the matches. You do not need to wait for this tally to be posted before casting another GP.

I will be live drawing the matches now. Come along to the contests tab on the board 8 discord if you want to watch them come to be in real time. Otherwise I will post the five matches in this topic when they have been drawn.

I know basically nothing about most of the top 10 (Missile, Kyle Hyde, Phoenix, Edgeworth, Bleck, The Boss) because I haven't played any of their games

I'm pretty neutral on Aerith, GlaDOS and Samus

Bowser is pretty good in the RPGs, otherwise I'd be neutral on him too!

Not a great top 10 for me but it has been a fun contest so far!

I know youve probably heard this a lot in these topics, but you should at least play Ghost Trick and the Kyle Hyde games (Im particular to Hotel Dusk but thats the controversial opinion I think) if you can. Theyre great experiences and definitely worth checking out!

Count Bleck has just been luring his opponent into a false sense of security, now he will strike

Samus/GLaDOS and Bleck/Boss have been great matches so far, definitely highlights of the round if they keep going this way.

On Saturday I'm going on a small vacation that will last through Tuesday. I plan on allowing 48 hours for each of the next two rounds (more info on Round 7 will be provided soon). As such, I'm at a bit of a crossroads on how I want to proceed going forward. I think I've decided on just putting things on a week hiatus until I get back. It's unfortunate timing and I apologize for it, but this is probably the best course of action over trying to ram things through or have the finals go up and then me leave for four days.

I appreciate everybody who has participated throughout the contest. We are almost to the finish line and I hope to retain everybody's interest until that point.
