Thought this was about the OG console. Trying to sell that one because the Classic w/"enhancements" has been the greatest 32-bit console to ever exist.

I would definitely pay $80 for just the console and the controller. If it's in decent condition, I think you could definitely get more on the web though.

There's something about that sweet OG hardware with the CRT. I'm also planning on using an FXPAK Pro down the line (don't mod me), and those carts often have compatibility issues with clone systems.

It is. They're expensive these days like all old school game stuff.

Yeah I picked up my retro collection about years ago, cool to see it's all worth more now.

You're going to want some of the games too right? And one controller or two?

I'd rather bundle together with the games so I don't mind the 80$+games. That way the shipping is cheaper.

games:
Battletoads/Double Dragon
Legend of Zelda: LTTP
Kirby's Avalanche
Caesar's Palace

I may have more games but that's what's off the top of my head; I think the only one that commands value is LTTP, and kirby's avalance goes for around 15-18$. These are all real carts and its all legit hardware as well for controllers. The only one I played much of was LTTP tbh, though my gf loooooves super mario world. I think I might have super mario kart and super mario world floating around but I might have sold them awhile back. Not sure :/

I play my NES a lot more these days. Half the SNES catalog is cheap sports games or licensed platformers. The other half are good games but range from moderately priced to expensive.

The NES is much cheaper to collect for and has some great games too. Some of the super expensive games like Mega Man 5 and Dragon Warrior IV are easily playable on other systems.

I won an NES mini out of a crane machine and sold it for 50$; it took 8$ to win so I feel a tad foolish, but still net positive 42$

Damn if ebay is anything to go by my two controllers, the snes, Mario kart, and lttp would easily get 200 bucks even though I dont have boxes for any of them. Thats ridiculous.

Wonder what my n64 and games are worth.

Just found my copy of mario kart as well.

I think n64 goes for a little more in terms of the games; majora's mask goes for like 40$ and it wasn't an uncommon title.

I had my NES, SNES, and N64 with all the games at my family's fishing camp. I'd keep them there as something to do at night when we'd go, I had my PS2 and GCN at home. Hurricane Rita blew the entire camp into the river and well now they're gone obviously. :(

N64's aren't quite as expensive yet. Luckily I have mine from my childhood.

Damn that sucks. They're expensive to replace too if you want og hardware.

The Nintendo SNES mini with the 20 games? I might as well just set up a retro arch raspberry pi, or do the same thing with the ps1 mini.

It comes with the controllers and you can do some...additions to it. Much more portable and connects with HDMI.

You CAN basically set it up with a retro arch raspberry pi tbh.

Yeah, that is an option. But I like playing og hardware, I keep a crt for that purpose. Emulation is cool, and I'll be more on that train when I'm older I think, but there's just a certain something about the old school style you know?

My collection of 1st party N64 games w/custom cases and repro manuals are likely worth half a grand total so if you've got the highly sought after games like Conker, you're looking at a real fuckton of cash in your pocket. Same goes for Gamecube.

Here's my opinion because I was in your shoes at one point. Nothing lasts forever, especially physical media (I'm surprised my SNES actually turns on tbqh). There is also a wealth of hidden gems in the SNES catalog that would require ALOT of money to experience on the original hardware, so always keep an open mind to what matters to you in the long term if you enjoy the games and not just collecting them as an investment or whatever.

It's really like managing an old ass car. Something goes wrong like your SNES processing chip fries or you start seeing green lines all over your CRT, you'll be on your own remedying it. Just something to think about for the future, ya know.

Got it, I own both the snes and mini snes and I get the old feeling of playing games on CRT. If your purpose was to play on CRT then I bid you good luck on finding the original snes in good condition. I think because of covid a lot of people have probably been reliving nostalgia while bored at home so prices may have gone up to compensate.

Those older retro gaming prices, they're not gonna go down. Only up. (Well, in the foreseeable future). Supply/demand plus we're now talking about people with nostalgia who are late young adult stage or already early middle age, which means they have real money to throw around at this point.
