I am probably going to have my bubble burst about this, but...I'm really antsy for the mobile version to release. I'm pretty sure there are Windows features or programs that will play Android apps, so I'm hoping to finally get a full squad together with some friends on PC. The randos I get stuck with keep me at Expert and below, and I only ever have one other friend to play with, two if I'm lucky. I think with more people I can trust, I should be able to at least reach Veteran.

(Here's where someone tells me this game won't work with Android to PC programs, and shatters my hopes of ever stringing together consistent victories.)

I'm sure Android emulators will have Unite up and running, and then eventually next year Windows 11 will just have native android app support built-in anyways

I still hit my dailies but there hasn't been good reason to play beyond that.

Ok opened my first battle box(which takes 130 points instead of the usual 100) and my prize was...100 tickets. Less than what the typical reward would be for a normal 100 point level up on the battle pass.

That is...bad.

So something I still don't understand after all the many hours of playing this game is how does the super glowy speed boost work? The one you sometimes get for getting a kill, or sometimes it just seems to happen randomly?

You get a speed boost after using your Unite move. Or from the lane when walking towards a point that is still there.

While we're airing our misunderstandings/questions, can anyone tell me how they figure how many balls you lose when you get killed? Sometimes I lose about half, other times I lose closer to 3/5 or 2/3, sometimes I don't lose many at all. Really curious what the formula is there.

I assume it's either tied to the amount you had or how far into a match you are. But who knows with this game!

Its probably based on how well youre doing in the match, just like the respawn timer

Remove 1 minute death timers when you're doing well and 5 second death timers when you're doing bad.

Yeah Zapdos is too much of a swing, but being so heavily punished for doing well is just absolutely stupid.

To clarify, fuck Zapdos. Fuck whoever decided it was OK to have a mechanic where the losing team can poke Zapdos one time, give his entire team that wasn't at the fight a bunch of points during the stretch of game where goals are doubled, and make dunks instantaneous.

I'm mad as hell. We were dominating until enemy Blastoise touched Zapdos exactly one time (and died because all five of us were there). What's the point of playing the prior 8 minutes if the game is a coinfip.

Remove Zapdos.

Or on the other hand...

Play perfectly the whole game, making skilled plays and dominating the enemy team... only to lose because your team decided to do Zapdos instead of just defend against it, then the enemy team which fucked up 100 times in the first 8 minutes gets to win?

I got to Ultra 4 and then lost about 13 of the next 15 games or so, about 10 of those losses we were winning until our team threw at Zapdos

Ive won enough games where we lost Zapdos and lost enough games where we won Zapdos that Im almost fine with it now. I would probably remove the free 20 points to all living team members but leave the rest of its benefits intact.

Akshon Esports put out this video the other day. There's no real interesting information that you don't already know if you've played this game a lot already (particularly since the game is so new there isn't a lot of information yet for the competitive scene), but it calls out the balance issues pretty hard, and of course focuses a lot on Zapdos:

Hopefully they'll fix it in an update, but I feel like that will be a major gameplay change that won't happen until a big update. Like 2.0.

I don't understand why people keep using those MoistCritikal clips where he's like eight levels higher than the opponents who were either children playing on the very first day, or AI bots. That would have played out that way regardless of his held items.
