Very minor spoilers for G1-4 but

I was rolling at Naruhodo saying bikes will never make it and will become outdated considering Phoenix always rides bikes to places. The little things, I love this series.

So is Hosunaga this game's Gumshoe? I thought he was just a throwaway character in 1-1, but seeing him in 1-2 made me wonder.

I really like him. He's a cool guy.

I beat game one.

G01-01 is probably my least favourite game in the series, except all those other ones I blanked out due to being so bad. It just goes on so long.

G01-02 is my favourite case in this game. I like that the case is just investigations, it's a nice change from all the other cases that end in a trial. Also I like it's just an accident instead of deliberate murder.

G01-03 is not that good in my opinion, although only due to how depressing it ends. I'm not a big fan of depressing things. Also I like that you can see how the evidence changes by loading a previous save. Although I question why they emptied the storage compartment, there was enough space for Gina to fit in.

G01-04 is alright. I like that it was all an accident but the culprit actually indented to do harm and got arrested for it. It bothers me how casual everyone took the culprit throwing a knife at her husband though. Also I really don't like the defendant. I don't know why I dislike them so much, but I do.

G01-05 is my second favourite in the game. I don't really have any complaints about, but I don't have many problems with it.

Dance of deduction is probably my favourite gimmick in the AA series as whole, I hope it's in future games. Jury summation (sp?) was good as well, but not as good as dance of deduction, but I still hope it stays in future even if it's unlikely to do so. The stereoscope sucks though, maybe I just think that because I suck at doing the trick though.

I'll probably start game 2 tomorrow, but I might get time later on today.

Edit: As a side note it would have been nice for them to visit the London Underground.

Today I learned what a "frontispiece" is. This localization is just so good.

Excuse me but (G02-01) that's Ryutaro Naruhodo, Ryunosuke Naruhodo not Susato.

I enjoyed G02-01 more than G01-01 but I'm disappointed that the DLC costumes override the (G02-01) disguise and flashbacks.

Oh yes and I will say that I think G2-1 is better than G1-1 by sheer virtue of it being shorter. I feel they wanted to extend G1-1 to three chapters and didn't have enough to fill it in, so they made up some stuff to drag it out. G2-1 is two chapters and it never feels artificially extended. If you take the time to examine the evidence you get to the usual place where you're like "okay this is a thing I can't use now but should remember for later" and you get to the end at the exact point you use your last of those.

Completed the first game. Something that stands out for me is that the bulk of this game's dialogue is on building up the characterization of the characters. The actual cases themselves are actually really short and relatively simple when you look into it but the characters have a lot more depth. The final case is about a 3rd case level in terms of stakes and simplicity. I almost expected a (SoJ spoilers) 6-5 to happen since Graydon was way too obvious and easy of a villain and was getting damage animations before there even was a murder. But I guess the characterization makes up for it

I heard the stakes go up higher in the sequel.

Yeah it became obvious to me that this is very specifically a two game series. Like no games in the AA series have the direct continuity on the level of these two games. It's more like a single larger story told in ten chapters.

People and concepts show up in the first game and you're like "what the heck was that even why didn't it figure into the case or even the rest of the game" and it turns out anything that seems a red herring is setup for the second game.

This is also G1-4 spoilers and contains revelations I really liked them and even had that heart string feeling when Roly started to cry because he just wanted one damn night where he could take his wife out. They were so cute and dynamic together. Even what he did was incredibly wrong you can still at least understand what was going through his brain and feel sympathy for him. I hope I see them pop up in another case.

Well it's far easier to pick up on when the original Japanese just used the name "Watson" instead of Wilson, because I guess Japan doesn't have to worry about legal houndings from the Doyle estate.

Wow, youtube comments can be really good sometimes. I didn't even realize it but the final case of the first game's culprit could've easily just pinned the blame on the Skulkins and say he took their gun away. Instead he did it the hard way and negotiated info with Gregson in order to pin it on Gina instead. It's an incredibly subtle way to show that he still cares for the Skulkin brothers.

No problem, I also realized that GAA1-5 spoilers) Gregson was pretty dumb to accept the deal with Graydon. If Graydon got exposed he'd be arrested and have his body searched anyway. If court dragged it out of him, the inspector could do the same thing he did by yelling for it not to be played since the disc was exposed in the end anyway. Also Graydon had a easier time killing a billionaire than taking a box from a pawnshop.

I really do genuinely like the game a lot. But the more I play, more and more I find myself fast forwarding through dialogue. This game is REALLY wordy, even for an Ace Attorney game.

Is it weird that I'm more interested to find out (G2-2) how they handled Shamspeare's dialogue in Japanese? I wonder if they would just substitute Shakespeare lines as the Japanese know them or use other types of theatrical dialogue that fit better with the Japanese language/culture?

I just started Case 02-04. Mild spoilers I guess. The jury member from case 01-03 who was supposedly the head of the coachmen's guild seems to have been demoted in life as he seems to working as a porter now. Maybe it'll be revealed as a trick or something but it seemed strange.

I'm so happy that (G2-3) Gina gets to come back and be allowed the opportunity to have a future where she can be happy with what she does. Her entire arc in the first game was so cynical and it's so nice to see her turn herself around. Kinda like Adrian Andrews in that regard.

Yeah I was replaying through the first game but then this game came out and slowed me out. I'll get NMH3 day one but I'll replay 1 and 2 first. No need to replay Travis Strikes Back imo.

I still only start G02-03, but two of the G-02 cases I've done have a day 2.

Gotta say one thing this game has me in the mood for, which I'm watching now, is Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes.
