Face Shrine done, probably my favorite dungeon up to this point for the series. I'm generally not too big on the remixes of the remake compared to the originals, but I do love what they did with its theme here.

Eagle's Tower down, probably finishing the game tonight or tomorrow morning. And I'm going to have plenty of time for OoT3D here; have a flight to Washington DC on Saturday. This might all slow down for the week I'm actually in DC though.

It sounds like fun and I adore Zelda, so much so that it's one of the only series I've bought merchandise for.

Link's Awakening main quest finished, got my good animu Marin ending. Still have some stuff to do that only unlocks in postgame though, so it might be another day before I get going on Ocarina.

I swear this game gets better every time I play it. Helps that even though I usually hate minigame stuff in Zelda games (trust me, I'll have opinions about these things as they become more prevalent), I actually really enjoy the fleshing out of the fishing and raft games, as well as the dungeon maker (even though that really falls short of what it could be). Trendy game is still bleh though.

Speaking of opinions, time to vomit one out:

LttP > LA > Zelda 1 First Quest > Zelda 2 > Zelda 1 Second Quest

LTTP still holds up tremendously well; it's still better than most 2d games made today. Every time I play it it's a reminder of how great it was, and how awesome it is that it's linear story-based in a time when people wanted to drag out all your gaming hours out over high scores, endless grinds, and super high difficulty games.

Miyamoto and his teams are still king.

Got plenty of time during the flight as expected, made it up to Zora's Domain before my 3DS's battery ran low. Game is still so good.

Have now reached adulthood. Jabu-Jabu is such a great dungeon concept, but always ends up feeling oddly short to me for some reason. Still a good dungeon overall though.

As expected, no Zelda today. Another car ride tomorrow though, so should be able to get at least through another dungeon.

Forest Temple finished, contender for best dungeon in the series. Too bad Phantom Ganon was a joke; I just kinda stood underneath him and blindly mashed, and he never hit me, with all but one of the cycles having him not even reflect the attack back at me. I seriously wonder how I ever had trouble with this fight sometimes.

Found some time today. No dungeons done, but up to the start of the Fire Temple after some piece of heart/Poe/skulltula hunting and general prep.

Tomorrow is unlikely, very busy day ahead, Sunday is my flight back so hopefully I can get up through the Water Temple.

Also figure I may as well put this up to vote: Shadow or Spirit Temple first? Kinda waffling on this one.

I always do Shadow first...it's up to you, but if you do Spirit before Shadow, at least do the Well

Definitely, although it is definitely one of the games I'm most worried about halting the marathon. I enjoyed it more than enough on first play, but I'm not sure how well it will hold up on a second go when I've already explored the world before. If nothing else, should be interesting to be able to freshly compare its world to BotW2's, though.

Play it on Master Mode. It spices it up.

So uh. Travel plans completely unraveled, I am now stuck overnight in between flights, and I got absolutely no Zeldaing done today. Hopefully tomorrow?

Enemies are all tougher so it's more of a stealthy mission overall. There are gold variants of enemies which aren't in normal mode, which are the strongest variants. There are a lot more enemies around overall. Different Lynel locations, including in the starting area. Platforms float above the ground in some areas that have treasure chests containing strong weapons.

Overall nothing too crazy, but the enemies being way tougher make it more fun and adds a small element of strategy. I enjoyed it more than normal mode, at least.

May give it a go then.

Water Temple done, very much feel like its difficulty gets overstated tbh. Going to be doing all the shit for the Biggoron Sword before heading into the Shadow Temple. Probably my least favorite part thing to do in the game, but eh.

Oh god fuck that Wizrobe room lmao. Pretty sure I just went into blind panic and mashed sword until somehow everything was dead besides me. Levels 5 and 6 of Second Quest in particular felt like repeated kicks to the dick.

Will try to at least knock out Gerudo Fortress tonight. Probably my favorite stealth section of any Zelda game.

Spirit Temple done, just need to get the Ice Arrows and the last 9 skulltulas and I'm off to endgame.

Feeling a bit under the weather so hopefully that's not going to stall me up much, but did clear out all skulltulas and the useless ice arrows, so I'm ready to finish this game whenever.

And Ocarina finished. Impressive game for its time, and impressive how well it still holds up. If I have a gripe, it's just how little of a threat everything including bosses is, but the increased dungeon intricacy more than makes up for it.

Next up... Master Quest! Never been further than the Bottom of the Well in that. Hopefully I don't burn out redoing all the minigames and sidequests and such here.

Might only do pieces of heart for extra stuff this run, forget the more superfluous upgrades and half the Skulltulas. Actually still want to at least find the skulltulas in the dungeons, since those are different from the base game.

Going to start it up in a few and immediately get mindfucked by the world being mirrored.

Alright, Deku Tree and Dodongo's Cavern done. Dodongo's Cavern in particular was a lot better than in vanilla OoT. Nothing too hard yet (though taking double damage made Deku Tree a bit more stressful than normal). Honestly, worst part of doing this right after vanilla is just not getting to skip the dialogue/cutscenes lol.

Totally forgot about the freaking cows in the walls that act as switches in Jabu-Jabu's Belly in Master Quest. Absolutely the weirdest dungeon in the series with that.

Knocked out Forest Temple, still not too hard for the most part (though I lost my first fairy of either Ocarina run to a jumpslash-happy Stalfos). But it did introduce one of my least favorite things I remember from earlier attempts at MQ: stupidly craftily hidden switches that slow the game down to basically a pixel hunt. Not too bad this time, just an eye switch in the courtyard well, but I know these get worse.

Played a bit, didn't get much done because of distractions around my place, but at least cleared the ice cavern a bit earlier than usual and finally got Epona. Going to do a bit more prep before tackling the Fire Temple hopefully tomorrow.

Perhaps "prep" is the wrong word, but it's basically just revisiting the whole series to be back into a full Zelda mood by the time BotW2 hits. Also a chance to revisit games I've only finished once before (Twilight Princess, Spirit Tracks, Skyward Sword, and BotW).

Think I just managed a softlock in the Fire Temple here, can't get back through the wall of fire before the Flare Dancer, and don't have a small key to continue forward

Never mind, no softlock, just a well hidden key. Fire Temple down, MQ version was a fucking doozy.

And Water Temple was... a joke. Actually easier than normal Water Temple, with a large chunk of the dungeon being entirely optional skulltula hunting. Okay then.

On to Bottom of the Well, the furthest I've been in MQ.
