I'm ignoring timelines wholesale just going in semi-release order, in that I'm doing the most modern version of each game. For example, will be playing the Switch version of Link's Awakening after LttP.

Most of this is covering familiar ground, with the exceptions of Zelda 1 second quest and the last few dungeons of OoT Master Quest.

Any room with red bubbles and wizrobes is the absolute worst shit, and the last couple dungeons I did loved spamming that combination.

Going to try to get at least level 7 of second quest done tonight

You probably know this tip for Zelda 2, but I'll post in case you don't. You can jump over the jewel after each boss, and save them for leveling up at the end.

Definitely hitting the DS games, iirc they're on the Wii U VC so easily playable. If there's any game that stalls this marathon, though, it'll be Spirit Tracks; never cared much for that one.

Going to have to look into how I could play the Four Swords games. I think I have a copy of FSA around, so I could at least give that one a go, but not sure on Four Swords itself. Almost certainly skipping Triforce Heroes though.

It was a limited time thing but the 3DS released a single player version of Four Swords as a standalone title. You may have to hunt for a used 3DS that has this game already installed.

As much as I hate the bubble + wizrobe combination in later dungeons, I would have hated muggers so much more if I wasn't aware of their existence and prepared by going into each dungeon with 50+ rupees. Absolutely awful mechanic.

I do have a bit of a quandary here, as I don't actually have my N64 anymore and presently only own them on 3DS. I could buy them on the Wii U VC I suppose (and really, may do so just to maximize how much Zelda I have on the system). With Ocarina, my plan was to do both normal and master quests, so I could probably do something like normal quest on the original version, master quest on the 3DS. Majora... I'd have to think a bit more about. Might go through on the original hardware, and afterwards fight the 3DS versions of the bosses for comparison.

Eh, for all the shit Majora's Mask 3D gets, I still think it's a pretty decent remaster/remake/whatever it is. 3DS version would be fine if you don't have access to the N64 version.

I beat Zelda II for the very first time this year. Had to leave the overworld extra lives and pick them up on the way to the Grand Palace. Also I had to cheese the very final boss.

Are you playing the original versions on their home consoles? Sorry if I you already said. I personally prefer playing the original OoT and MM on the N64/GCN, but find TWWHD infinitely superior to the GCN version. Haven't played TPHD or SSHD yet but I'd assume they're also better.

Unfortunately, for most it's not an option for me at this point. Playing the NES games and Link to the Past on the Switch online thing, and most others will be on either the Wii U (VC for Minish Cap and the DS games, HD remasters for WW and TP), 3DS (Oracles and LBW), or Switch (BotW, LA, and SS HD). Still not sure if I'm going to do the N64 games on Wii U VC or their 3DS remakes.

First two dungeons down. Mostly no problems so far outside of being bad against goriyas, but I'm sure Death Mountain will change that. Going into there with levels at 4/4/5 (may have grinded a bit much on bubbles).

I thought about doing something similar, going back and 100%ing Zelda games I haven't yet.

Oracle games, Minish Cap, and the DS games are the ones that I haven't fully beaten, but I don't really want to in case they remake those. >_> I'd rather do it on a remake, like Link's Awakening.

I also have no way of playing the Four Swords games, so that sucks.

I haven't played 1/2, Oracles, Links Awakening (though I have the DX version) and Ocarina of Time to completion.

Haven't played Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword either.

Most recent Zelda games I've played are Link's Re-Makening and Majora's Mask (n64). Wouldn't mind peppering in some other games in between playthroughs of some of my backlog.

Skyward Sword might be next for me tbh since that's on Switch now.

And finished with Zelda II. Final dungeon (and the path leading to it) was a nightmare as always. Cheesed Shadow Link since I was on my last life and low on health from Thunderbird, but it begs the question: If I kill Thunderbird but then get a game over against Shadow Link, does Thunderbird stay dead? Didn't want to find out myself here.

Anyways, fine enough game even if it's weird for a Zelda and a bit heavy on the bullshit at times. Onto Link to the Past... which may only take a day or two, given how much I love it and have it memorized.

Went ahead and started Link to the Past, by which I mean I'm already at the Dark World. Getting to break in a replica SNES controller a friend got me, feels perfect.

First four dark world dungeons done, in relatively intended order. Probably knock out the final three crystal dungeons tomorrow.

Also hitting a weird mental block where, due to so much watching/playing so much of the randomizer since I last played the base game, I keep having to second guess what's actually important and what isn't. Hoping I don't end up managing to forget a heart piece or something from this lol

Started LA, beat the first dungeon without managing to die to Moldorm this time. First time through the Switch version I never really noticed slowdown, but I'm definitely feeling it a lot more this time for some reason, especially in Mabe Village. Maybe I should switch to docked for this.

Up to the entrance of Catfish's Maw now. Marin following along with you before Angler's Tunnel is probably low-key one of my favorite bits in any Zelda game.

The new trendy game physics are so fucking wild though, I had an item pop backwards out of the claw when it should have just dropped to the conveyor belt. I have no idea how that game got through QA and I don't know if I love or hate it.
