Pretty crazy. I've been here since 2001 and I thought I'd never leave but, dang, this place is pointless at best.

At worst it's a toxic soup.

I've been friends with the people I want to stay in touch with for a long time. Coming here was more a habit than anything. So, if you're on the fence, take my advice and don't post here anymore

I just don't take any part of it serious enough to care that much. Some of the users here really need to unhitch the trailer for a few days and go enjoy the nice weather out there today.

By that people mean this place used to be active and there was a real sense of community. You used to make a topic and it would instantly be on page 2 or 3. You clearly have not been coming here long enough to understand that.

There's enough people here that I consider friends, and 99% of the time we are hanging out in the drinking topic and get left alone for the most part. You can come give it a go if you want, there's people who don't drink, lot of people just hang out because we are friendly, we don't get into it about anything, we don't really talk politics and it's not toxic.

Started coming here again just before the 2020 election when my graduate school friends left with their masters degrees

yeah, i think it'd be fair to actually call it an addiction tbqh. in my case it's like, wtf else would i do. i go to dunkin donuts two times a day, read a lot, play a little Switch, record videos that don't long to make. not much opportunity to make realistic, long-term friendships over the internet, though i've made a few.

Same, just been here too long. I think over 20 years.

But I must say, some have said this place is toxic and I disagree. Whenever I've seen a serious topic, people always offer kind words and encouragement. Some very cool people here, not fair to only focus on the trolls (which every online community has tbh).

i sustained a brain injury in 2003. The lasting effects were that I have a bad memory. Early on, my left side wasnt moving and my memory was horrible and my inhibitions were way down.
