I've given that some thought.

The threshhold to become a fan/supporter of Phil is incredibly high.

Let's say, for whatever reason you truly enjoy Phil's content and want to support him by giving him tips.

First you have to contact Phil, and dox yourself. This is so that Phil can then verify your tips going forward.

If you agree with this to tip him, you now have to tip a bare minimum of $1.50. You do not get a say in this.

When you tip Phil, it has to be "on topic". Basically only attach a message singing his praises, or else you'll be chewed up and spit out.

However good your intensions are, do not try to give Phil feedback, you'll get banned.

Do not think a second, that Phil cares about you, because you gave him money. You are only as useful for as long you can give him money. If the well dries up, expect to be thrown under the bus.

If you do not tip Phil, expect to be guilttripped hard. Remember, he needs your money more than you do.

If you happen to get banned, by one of his stupid mods or Phil himself by not following the rules by the letter, you'll be required to write a lengthy appology mail (even though you did nothing wrong) and attach a generous donation to get unbanned.

You do not get to play/team up with Phil in the various online games he plays. Giving him money is good, directly interacting with him is not.

Nad lastly, always agree with Phil. Remember, Phil is always right and you are wrong.

I'd like to know what legit fans actually enjoy. Everyone's tastes are different, so I'm sure there are some elements of his humor or gameplay that appeal to people, but those elements are buried beneath an avalanche of begging, dead air, and general toxicity.

The Jasper thing is really worrisome. I'm legit concerned for that cat. The last cat I had also peed everywhere like she couldn't control it even though she was trained and when I took her to get checked out she had some kidney failure thing or something that was genetic and she had to be put down or she would've just died in agony.

Hope Phil doesn't fuck around and actually gets him looked at.

Been watching some older This is How You Don't Plays and Phil used to do massive off-camera grinding sessions for all his RPGs. It's fucking crazy. Did nobody ever tell him to stop taking every bit of fun out of games?

And in his final review of the game he grinded the fuck out of, he complains about it being too easy.

My favorite was...I think classic RE3? He was bitching about puzzles the whole game, then he finishes the puzzle in one go, acts surprised, then immediately gets defensive and pretends it was just luck or whatever.

Like, dude, if you just did it and moved on no one would have even realized you looked it up. You brought attention to it.

The TIHYDPs I was talking about in my last post were the FF13 series ones. I literally just watched this for the first time a few hours ago, and now he's going insane about it. It was fucking painful to listen to. Like, the "intentional" part in it was that he intentionally sat there and tried to talk over a blaring fire alarm giving the listener ear damage, because he's such a moron that he wouldn't dream of delaying filming until he can make a product that reaches his standard bare minimum quality.

Grinding between videos showed that he at least had some interest in what he was doing, even if it did hurt the overall experience. Compare that to now, when he literally will not play a game unless he is in front of the camera and getting paid for it.

It's so.... I don't even know the proper word for this, but typical of Phil. He expects new releases to bring new viewers. And sure enough, he might get a few here and there.

But he doesn't do anything for viewer retention. His Psychonauts 2 stream barely had 300 viewers, so sure enough a few new people might have stumbled into Phil, but they will be gone just as fast as they came.

For someone who keeps complaining about dwindeling viewerahip, and thus income, he sure doesn't do shit to improve.

Any new viewer would give up on him pretty quickly. Who in their right mind is going to sit through a 90 minute prestream followed by an extended bathroom break just to get to the gameplay? Literally any other streamer on the platform can provide a better experience, because even the least charismatic, most unskilled streamer out there will at least play the game.

He has lowered his membership goal with a couple of days left to reach it. Coincidentally, his reward to his fans for reaching it is a marathon event, which usually brings in significantly higher amounts of donations than regular streaming days.

So, by giving money to reach a goal, his reward to his viewers is a chance for them to give more money? I realize that a lot of streamers do have goals where they end up doing a marathon of some sort, but those streamers are usually not bitter and actually respect their viewers, unlike DSP who only sees their wallets.

Not to mention how other marathons are usually something like playing a brand new thing for 12 hours with little breaks, while DSP goes and does the same old shit for 7 hours with 4 hours worth of breaks and prestream spread out across the "marathon".

A marathon is a reward for hitting the membership goal. A marathon can also be a punishment for not hitting the tips goal enough times in a week.

If people are already don't have the money to pay you, forcing a marathon isn't going to fix that issue.

He doesn't understand that his viewers have a finite amount of money, which is especially ridiculous when you consider how often he complains about only having enough money to pay the bills. Yet these people are expected to set aside a sizable chunk of their income to give to a YouTuber who puts zero effort into his content and will only "reward" his faithful viewers by giving them more opportunities to pay him more money.

What I gathered from that video is that Phil knows what he's doing is begging and that he knows that what he's doing to his viewers is unreasonable, but he just does it anyway and outside of such a moment of "honesty" (though not really since he obviously gets much more money than he needs already) like this one just pretends that its okay because being honest about what he's doing on a daily basis would be a bad look, but having a "sad breakdown" like this once in a while might actually be beneficial to him.
