How do you feel about the "last meal" an inmate receives before finishing his sentence and moving onto the next life? Do you feel that it is "humane"? A "waste"? Is it necessary or should we be like Texas and forgo it in the other 49 states?

I remember that story when it happened. Texas is quick when it comes to laying down the law. The governor and warden were both overly sensitive to a guy refusing to eat his meal, meanwhile the one thing everyone looks forward to when they die via the prison system is now off the menu. Sucks to suck, I guess?

Death penalty is immoral so I am against the whole thing but if you are going to kill someone, the least you can do is do a final meal. People who whine about the price are usually the same people who have no problem having a bloated military budget

The price varies from prison to prison, but the general consensus is that the price of the average final meal is about $40.

Some southern states only offer a measly $20 for a condemned to eat from. Other states offer more.

Not all people on death row killed someone. They seem to find a new person on death row who is innocent every year

That's why I said likely killed. Majority of death row inmates are likely guilty. And they're rewarded for it.

Obviously all prisoners do get their "final meal" at some point, even if they didn't get to choose it themselves. So murderers in Texas don't get a menu? Boo fucking hoo.

A nice meal is more of a reward than they deserve, which should be nothing.
